If Project Fortaleza is anything like what's being described (Google Glass meets IllumiRoom) it would be truer to a holodec than wearing VR glasses.

That makes zero sense as EA ACTUALLY DID PUBLISH Titanfall as a Microsoft exclusive.
If you believe this article, the game sold well enough that EA was rewarded with the publishing rights for the sequel.
As far as this 'news', which is just rumor/speculation, nothing changes. If anything it could only expedite negotiations with Microsoft to keep it exclusive since they negotiated the first game.

The title is misleading as it says 'report'. Actually reading the article it says this is all rumor. And does anyone believe a 'source' anymore? There's no names put against any of this.

Microsoft will work to continuously improve the XBox for the present and the future. I doubt they'll revert to the mistakes of the past that burned them prior to launch.
Need more proof? Look at the Xbox 360 and the constant improvements made to that console. It really hit it's stride about 2/3 of the way through it's life.
