Even though it looks more polished and refined, I must say that I don't like that it looks so much like SF4 style-wise. I mean, SF1 to SF2 was a major upgrade visually, same for 2 to 3, and 3 to 4 was completely different with the 3D. This will be the first time they basically left the visual style the same, and I can't help but feel it's Capcom doing their lazy low-budget move. That way they don't have to spend time on creating new assets, that could be a bad sign for the gam...
Whoa, as long as the SF team doesn't screw this up (with Capcom basically having just this and 1 or 2 other franchises they haven't totally destroyed yet) - X1 is really getting smashed in the head with missing out on this one. I'm waaay more interested in this than Titanfall, Gears of War could possibly be good - but SF is the fighting game bible. See what you had to go 'n start MS, with all that buying exclusives crap. Sony wasn't playing with this one. Though, you never...
Paper Mario was a well put together game. It could be really cool on Wii U.
aerisbueller - "If it were a great value, it wouldn't have to be compulsory for online play."
That's a major point right there. Sony wasn't confident in PS+'s value alone to bring in the consumers, so they went the greedy paywalling MS route. There's no excuse that can make up for that or make it seem right. You are only renting the games, you don't own them. Once you let your sub run out, so do all the 'free' games. It almost makes m...
That's what happens when you have HDDs on platforms and devs can just do updates, patches and hotfixes. The negatives seem to far outweigh the positives of it. Back in the day you'd get games with massive content packed into the cartridge/disc and compared to today's standards - very low amounts of bugs/glitches. Now games get broken into parts during development, they release the game in segments as $DLC, and claim those portions were on a separate DLC budget - even when it's...
Because MS/Sony just want to make as much $$$ as possible off us. That's why games cost so much more on consoles also, and digital versions prices we won't even discuss the margin of difference. PS4's PSN doesn't even have a properly functioning messaging system, just sad. It takes like 10+ minutes for you to receive a message someone has sent you. Then, going into messages to check, it always takes almost a full minute of the wait circle spinning before it loads whatever it k...
It seems like tons of publishers are pulling this move now. It's clearly to get as many purchases as they can before the crappy reviews pour in.
I made it in on the Beta for this game, and played it once. The gfx were nowhere near what they showed in all the past videos. The aliasing was disgusting, and the characters looked like launch PS3 gfx. Ubisoft is the new king of bull shots and bull vids. It was more sad that the update that came out the same day I downloaded the...
@traumadisaster,
No dumbass, but this game is about you taking on the role of a dude who's suppose to be getting 'revenge' by raping women tied to cacti. If you don't understand what's wrong with the way the game is presented - then I don't know what to say to you. Making a game that tells the history is fine, the way the interactivity plays out and main goal of this game is what is messed up.
Plus, the game isn't based on the hist...
Yeah, it's hard to find any Native Americans that look it anymore, like family's of Native Casino Owners, lots of them are blue-eyed, blonde haired kids.
I'm usually annoyed by these articles, and I expected to be when I clicked on this one. I gotta admit though, in this case - it's pretty messed up that they'd even wanna re-release this game. A game about cowboy's raping Native Americans, seriously? They already stole their homeland and raped them into near non-existance in the real world. Whoever made and whoever remade this game is a douche.
@bennissimo, I have to get back to playing that. I remember anticipating it, and it was fun - the bit I played. I just stopped for whatever reason.
I played the hell out of the original on Steam and still didn't see everything in it, then they added a free expansion that I barely touched. I've been playing the hell out of it on PS4 now, and there's tons of stuff constantly unlocking. Not to mention, Rebirth basically doubled the content of the insane expansion they had on the original. So, doubling the content of this now, is gonna be really outrageous.
This is one of the few really worthy free indies on PS+ ...
I'm thankful that I'm in my 30s and still a gamer, with the environment changing to where we don't have that same level of pressure to feel ashamed to be adult gamers anymore.
2-3 weeks ago an n4g article link showed they had it on Newegg for $35 I think, but it wasn't the digital code, and I expected Amazon to have the code in time. I should have just ordered the card from Newegg, I'd have had it by now. Come on Amazon, get it together.
I think my PS+ runs out tomorrow or Saturday. Hurry up with that $30-$35 PS+ year card damnit!
If you have a PS3 and downloaded Thomas Was Alone for it through PS+ already, then you can download it free on PS4 now too.
@MSBAUSTX,
Yeah, it's way better than the first few times they showed it. The enemies aren't as slow and clunky anymore, and the different themed dungeons don't look like clones with different colors anymore. They actually look more organic and unique. Those were 2 main issues I had with the first few times they showed gameplay. So, they seem to be on the right path in those areas atleast.
It could be great, as long as they don't ruin it with P2W microtransactions.
Yeah, one article listing at the beginning of the month showed it under PS+ for PS4, then everything else only showed Vita. So I ignored it, until my nephew told me that it was definitely free on PS4. They need to get their ish together, I hate when stuff isn't listed in the right spot under the store or you have to find the free stuff separately from the PS+ category.
I'm pretty sure the main reason they did it, despite what they may tell us - is to save $$$ on redoing all the assets. I hope it doesn't bring back focus attacks and stuff. This will be the first time they make a whole new iteration of the game without majorly upgrading the visual style or changing it totally. SF1 to 2 was a major upgrade, 2 to 3 was insanely upgraded with animation and 3 to 4 was totally changed to 3D. 4 to 5 now seems like a slightly more refined version of 4.
