...I don't care. I know a lot of people like MGS, but that franchise never really did it for me--I couldn't care less. Besides, MGS already has iterations on the PS3... and the PSP and the PS2. ZOE3, on the other hand, really needs some current-gen treatment.
Half Life 2: Episode 3 is announced. If developers announce they're making a trilogy, that counts as an announcement for ALL THREE GAMES. The same for Resistance 3 and Mass Effect 3.
And why are all of these shooters? And all current-gen shooters, at that? And games in franchises that see nothing BUT sequels? I mean, really? (Well, yeah, there is BG&E2....).
Where's Freespace 3? Lost Odyssey 2? Xenogears 2? Heavy Rain 2? Suikoden VI? Persona 5? A ...
Freespace 2, for example, had a ton of "oh shit" moments. The first time you fight the Shivans... when you take down the Lucifer... when the Colossus was taken down. When the Colossos II showed up. When the Shivans blew up a star. Honestly, Halo's "flood" shouldn't be on the list at all, considering what a cliche it was. FS2 and Half Life both did the same thing better.
Mechwarrior 3, the first time you fight an Assault mech... really early in the ...
When I read the title, I was hoping it'd be an O'Neil-type colony! Nice to finally see one appear on a current-gen title. Biggest problem with 0081 was the lack of a colony interior map.
At all. It's just one random moron.
I bought the game, and all of the restrictions on player-created maps, along with the seriously underwhelming single-player campaign, make me wish I had pirated the game.
Edge is just a single word. You can't own a copyright on a single word, unless it's some fictional word you create. This is beyond absurd.
Some people are so stupid they simply need to be shot.
Halo was fun, but I really haven't played a shooter I really liked since Half Life.
The first one.
Though that Elite Force game was kind of cool, I suppose.
Honestly, if we have to make the whole industry revolve around shooters, I'd much rather see THIRD person shooters. Hell, even the lazy-ass third person perspective Bethesda uses would be preferable.
I don't think I'm gonna bother with any more console generations. They're getting more and more expensive, and the game libraries are taking longer and longer to fill up. It's only this year, really, that I've felt my PS3 is finally "worth it." My 360 has yet to reach that level in my opinion, and it doesn't look like it ever will.
Let's see it on the regular DS.
Enslaved got a lot of stuff right? Before there was enslaved....?
WTF? Either this game was released early and no one told me, or the article writer has no bloody clue how to use tenses.
Hope was actually the first child-character EVER not to have a voice that irritated the hell out of me.
But then again, this gen has been REALLY bad with voices. What with the kids in Star Ocean and Lost Odyssey, and the "celebrity" actors that phone in lines. Yeesh.
Though the Uncharted games have had pretty good voice acting this gen. And Disgaea 3 wasn't bad, either.
As good or better than Baldur's Gate II, or Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Absolutely fantastic.
I was particularly impressed with Lightning and Vanille, but really, all of the characters had fantastic voice acting--made all the more impressive by the relatively low mean.
Are you kidding me?
Yeesh. This 360/PS3 generation has bred an entire generation of gamers with pathetically low standards.
What do all of the top-tier, "classic" games of the 1990s, the games that many gamers feel epitomize the industry, have in common?
Good writing.
Because Western games invented character selection/creation.
...so it should be little incentive for non-owners to buy the game, but for those of us who already have, it could be a good reason to dust off the case and pop the disc in again. I imagine with Move, Heavy Rain will manage to immerse the player in a way that it could not do with the storytelling alone. God knows the graphics are certainly up to par.
Don't forget, the PS3 got Vesperia, too. Don't expect any of these games to make it anywhere outside of Japan.
And when I was referring to the campaign being atrocious, I was talking about the narrative and writing--it's garbage. You need to let your fanboyism die down a bit... Starcraft 2 has a shit-ton of flaws, virtually all of which can be linked directly to the Activision merger.
A niche Japanese game most people have never heard of is releasing 24 whole hours early! EVERYONE MUST KNOW.
Seriously, guys, look at a story before approving it.
