I feel that if videogames want to be taken as a more serious medium developers need to take the risk in making games based on current events, whether popular or not. Videogames will only start being recognized as the same as movies and lit when they can provide an accurate social commentary on the events impacting our lives.
Making a game based on the iraq war needs to be a reflection of the effect the war is having on everyone, and as long as the game doesn't imply that war it...

they all look the same but have a different setting, while games like tf2 and halo3 tend to seperate themselves apart more by using NPR(none photorealistic rendering) to achieve a more distinct look.
Imagine an MMO where every character was different, had a different story and each one you could befriend, or attempt to murder.

While nintendo has always been in the market for games and gaming, nintendo isn't trying to establish the same home theater and entertainment packages that microsoft and sony are trying to accomplish.

those are just some of the franchise microsoft have started to develop. I would also include crimson skies, mech assault, and rare titles (perfect dark, viva pinata) as other franchises that are starting to develop.

where's id, blizzard, bioware, bungie? All are older and have done more for their respected genre's then the the ones you listed, with the exception of capcom, who's a publisher. Valve is really the only one deserving of that list. I'd replace the rest with. I'd also add myamoto, but I don't consider nintendo a developer anymore, they seem to be more of a publisher.

It's just his specific experiences dealing with download services. Not specific to xbla, psn or wii ware, steam, etc. they just used psn and xbla out of recognition.
you'll see that the character is moving so it's probably blurry because of motion blur. I also found the 360 version was a bit hazy, not sure if it's because of the volumetric light or not.
Specially when you take in account that this is unique ID's only and not total players, so it only counts as one person when a group of 2-4 play online via splitscreen.
