But the boost in ram available.
when developing a game you run compilers on the devkits in the background, limiting the performance to a theoretical ceiling. Since the devkits now have more ram they properly optomize and check for errors, and use the full memory.
I rate Halo 3 above KZ2 and Cod4, and I rate tf2 above halo 3.
But then again I think killzone 2 and cod4 (on consoles) are both designed for audience that never played pc FPS games, where as halo tends to be a steping stone to more competative shooters found on the pc, as well as something that traditional pc players can also pick up play. In general it's the most skillful fps on consoles.
The biggest problem with kz2 is the aiming under water, and the cod 4 (on...
It's unreal 2, they've just done work to the engine to allow for more advanced techniques.
for example, the witcher, uses the same engine as NwN.
so this

are the same...
We'll finally get to see what the engineers are like.
for those of you who arn't into the halo universe. The engineers at the race the forerunner created for the manufacturing, and cloning of technology. They can take anything apart and rebuild it without effort. They can also be found in the source files for halo PC.
and an intel core 2 quad qx6850.
16xmsaa ftw.
Although it's a heavily modified version of UT2.
Sorta like the engine in Cod is a heavily modified id tech 3 engine.
The thing about the unreal engine, is that it's extremely easy to train people on. It's produces decent results, extremely quick and it's inexspensive.
By creating dev-kits with the same ram as the 360 they artifically limited what was capable to be produced. Recently MS released the new dev kits which will allow developers to use all of the 360's ram, we're already seeing the improved effects. Mass effect 2 has less pop-in, alan wake, splinter cell and forza 3 all speak for themselves.
Is rockstars inhouse engine.
I think you mean id tech 5.
I did find it odd because betheseda never used anything but gamebryo for their games prior.
The most pressing issue, is what will happen to Id's support of open source and their opensource engines.
I'm thinking large scale battles are more then likely considering how scalable the halo multiplayer already is to begin with. And with the inclusion of the beta in odst, it would provide a very, very large test and focus group, that could run for a very extended period, so I could fathom Reach being an MMO.
However the long development time could be due to bungie building a new engine to the game, which is also rumored.
It's not an MMO game, but mmo tech.
IE. Donnybrook.

Although what MS is likely showing is a much larger progression of that. The most interesting thing about donybrook is the fact it's p2p which would eliminate the mai...
just like kill switch and tps, and how the club will also have a similar role.
It's unfortunate that these games won't get the credit where they should.
I find that the characters from tf2 on average all have more personality and more rounded characters than any of the ones on that list.
Glados should be number 1.
That would add a lot of variety.
The goal of the designers was to make a game that the players themselves created the story.
Every single time I've played the campaign with friends I've laughed a lot, and the next day we've always discussed how awesome the experince was. I don't see how that's any different then a game with a story providing you with a ton of laughs then talking about it with your friends discussing how awesome the story was.
And for it being short? The game is the average lengt...
It's not DLC. DLC is a sack boy character and a new map.
The length of the original game is the same as any other full release title. Each of the 4 campaign's in l4d is roughly 2 hours plus it has versus and horde modes. This is the equivalent of a game with one 8 hour story mode and an online mode.
left 4 dead 2 has a new set of 4 campaign's each again will be 2 hours, plus versus mode, plus horde mode, plus a new type of gameplay mode. It has new infected types...
Not only that but we also see both microsoft and nintendo playing to the razor/razorblade style of cost effeciency when it comes to their other products.
Again while sony has so much bundled with the console microsoft and nintendo can sell exspensive addons, remotes, chargers, straps, etc. to cover even more manufacturing costs.
In all honestly, microsoft and nintendo both ran their consoles divisions a lot more effectively then sony has this generation.

capitalism only works in theory too.
in theory.
But yeah, i don't see why microsoft wouldn't be able to create a slim xbox.
1. change the disc drive so it's no longer a tray.
2. use the new di-shrink and a smaller motherboard
3. decrese the size of the brick
4. change the general shape from it's concave form, which naturally makes it look bigger.
5. remove the x-clamps which is a cause of most of the rrod's problems.
6. bind in natal.
