then you'd know that the processes handled by the GPU is far more important for the visual effects of a game then the capabilities of the cpu. The ps3 is physically limited by the pipelines available.
Not to mention that the use of parellel programming is very ineffecient for conditional and branching code, which is why AI tends to be very very good on the 360.

If enough people see it on the media and/or at their friends I could see it selling for more. Maybe 299 for an xbox slim pro + natal is more sound.

When you're programming on a dev kit you have to run compilers, background code, certain exe files, error reports, all of that effects the ram. Until now developers have been stunted because they could only get as theoretically as close to the 512 mark as possible, now with the 1 gig they can use the full 512 without a problem.
Ps3 and Wii dev kits also feature more ram then the actual system.

1.it uses the same hardware as the previous models. What that means is that there have been di-shrinks (cost and preformance saving), lowered manufacturing costs, etc, that have brought the initial price down.
2. it has a smaller screen, another cost saving measure, and it should increase the battery life.
3.it removed the umd, which for many people owning uncracked systems was the main source for their games, and movies. Not to mention the removal of a spinning ...
