I said this in another article.
A jack of all trades is a master of none.
Want a good rally game? get dirt
want a good arcade game? get pgr or motorstorm
want a good racing sim? get forza 3 or GTR3
want a good nascar game? get nascar 09
want an average game that does all those things? I'm sure you can fill in the blank.
Stylized graphics on the 360 and PC could take the visuals further then what we see on the Wii. Levels that have dust, debris or flowers floating in the air could have more, enemies could have better animation, higher textures on objects and models, levels could have more complex geometry, larger levels and higher polygon models, better physics on breakable objects and overall improvements like higher resolution, and AA.
Sure, using stylized graphics can overcome many of the tech...
A jack of all trades is a master of none.
It's not about them having to use a new engine, it's about them maximizing their profits.
In reality valve will develop a new engine once they determine the current trend in computers shifts to DX10 or 11, but in reality many people are still using DX8c compatible cards or w/e, and just like blizzard, valve is targeting game development which maximizes their market potential.
As for them maxing out the 360? Why waist the development time and money when their engine c...
Microsoft's new hardware is a type of treadmill that will allow players to move in any direction...
I think the games look great. Character models especially look gorgeous.
Sure it's no gears or uncharted but what it makes up for that by having an absurd number of enemies on screen at once.
People still consider gaming to be a more immature activity. That is the main cause for 90% of the media's backlash against the industry.
Many lobby groups are still run by ignorant people who know little of gaming next to Mario and therefore lambaste everything connected to it which deals with mature subjects.
GTA receives such an outcry because it's a game when movies that depict similar concepts receive Oscar Awards, Godfather, Scarface, Casino. Why does GTA get s...
Valve and bungie are arguably the two studio with the largest focus on continuing community support. They're also 2 developers with a large background in developing creative online software solutions.
Bungie: their match-making system, their online tracking, their video/file sharing, forge, their original live support.
valve: steam and their SDK tools, team-fortress 2 continual updates.
all they need are some partnerships with talented smaller development teams...
they why completely disregard gmod, who's whole purpose is just that, a physics sandbox where players can develop user-created content and have fun.
Or what about trackmania who's main purpose is user generated tracks and vehicles which can be shared?
again, LBP only popularized the mechanic for people ignorant of the exact same concepts available on PC and in other games, it's like saying halo created co-op in fps games, or gears created cover. And while I will cred...
I wish they'd pull a valve or something. Heck I wish they'd just team-up with valve and begin delivering content on steam directly, then they could also help valve develop their steam-cloud technology and introduce proper stat tracking into steam profiles.
So farcry and halo 3 that have exspansive level editors and game editing features don't count because the games aren't specifically designed around that concept?
I know of very few FPS console games that double as a kart racer(rocket racing) and sport game(griffball) and a rune goldberg machine.
I think that LBP is a great platforming game and all, and I'll give credit that it has absolutely awesome editing tools, however it's not the first console game to do what it...
I don't see why it's not $60.
I'll probably end up playing rocket tag in co-op as much as I do anything like fire-fight.
Marathon using natal.
You just run in place until you reach the finish-line.
I wish bungie would publish their own games.
you mean games that let you create user content, like games with modding content? or like every PC game with a level editor, Like trackmania or farcry or halo etc? Or games that allow user customization, like 95% of western rpg's, second life, and upcoming games like APB and forza? Or giant meta games like garry's mod?
This whole "create, save, share" concept has been around for a long long time.
Edit: Yes, LBP reaching the 1mil mark is impressive.
joyride... And it's free.
edit:
k, what did I say that you could possibly disagree with? Joyride is a free game. It's not an opinion it's a fact. It's being developed by Bigpark studios vancover, a new studio owned by MGS and it will release as a free avatar game featuring micro-transactions to customize your character.
walk into a place like walmart, walk up to the clerk and ask "hey, i heard there's a new madden, I need a new gamestation to play it on, any suggestions?"
then they walk over to the counter and the clerk show's him all 3 and they end up getting either the cheapest thing they see, or the one they know most about, or the one that's most advertised.
I'll agree that the extremely few people who walk into a store with a pre-determined idea to which console they ...
the answer to all of the theories are easily solved in the MGS universe, nanomachines and special operations.
Just like in MGS4, nanomachines solve everything, vamp's powers? nano machines!...
Honestly MGS(series) is one of the dumbest stories I've ever seen in videogames and I'm happily going to skip this piece of trash unless it stays clear away from kojima and his nanomachine fixation and extremely, extremely shallow philosophy.
The people who love ko...
If he does decide to have kids with a 35 year old, there's at least one advantage, the child will be born with some sort of major impairment like autism or brain damage....
But judging by that post it's already likely because of genetics.
Engineers are supposed to be in the game.
