yup, but good thing that those PC's out there have much more then the 256 or 512 found in consoles.
how exactly are consoles holding back PC's, if a developer wants too they can make games that utilize the most advanced hardware found on PC's.
It's not like a console is attached to every PC and limits their effectiveness.
The wii isn't holding back the 360 and PS3.
I think it's publishers who see the market being console oriented, and the requirement for parity between platforms that are holding PC gaming back.
the black football dude.
not mustafa but the other one.
except that mojang is based in like norway or something.
maybe mojang should just make an indie games console version... I'm sure most people would rather have the real thing the ripoff.
the guy who made fortresscraft saw an open market for a similar stlye game on consoles and decided to fill it. Not his fault.
not really, valve was doing the same stuff in tf2 with the announcer and with the australian piss guy.
and sony just copied Keven butler after the old spice character, DQ is doing the same thing.
this is a big miss by nintendo. With kinect and move, nintendo can't rely on a new gimmik to sell a consoles, especially since consumers know that MS or Sony can just patch their consoles with a similar device in the future.
The handheld sounds like a simple dumb client for the console, either that or it's gonna be the same as the gba-gc stuff.
wouldn't mid seeing something like DnD online or LOTRO get put on the 360.
I've always thought that if MS was smart They'd package in the chat pad for an MMO game, it should be enough buttons to make them work.
would never work with a gamepad.
i don't know man, some people are really addicted to that crap.
"A unified player would mean the games would come first. And none would be dumbed down because of the system you own. "
couldn't we say the same about having a standard graphics api? or ram, or a hardrive, or any hardware for that matter?
The fact remains that there are still dvd players being sold and there are still dvd's being produced. Not to mention that the gamecube last generation had it's own format and the games didn't suffe...
I'm gonna go out on a limb and disagree as well.
One of the reasons I bought my xbox 360 before my ps3 was because I didn't have an hdtv, I have a large dvd collection, and i didn't have any plans on getting an HDTV anytime soon. The extra exspense of a blu-ray player would've been passed onto me, and as a consumer I'd rather have the choice, especially if that choise leaves me more room for money management.
that said I think it's sa...
i blame achievements personally. The need for people to inflate scores has created high turn around for games, and used games in particular. People buy a used game, finish it for the easy acheivements, then re-sell it back to the retailer.
Well, achievments along with the whole slew of other opinions people have posted.
Parents are another big thing, a parent isn't going to buy their kids a new copy of a game if a used one is sitting right next to it at ...
horrid comparison, a static scenery shot with next to nothing in it compared to action shots with explosions going off.
I'm not going to say either is better, all I will say is that this comparison is garbage.
I think it looks quite good, the shot with the coast, lighthouse and ship seems to imply that the level of detail scales quite well with the size of the enviroment.
I'd be nice to see it applied to different art direction as well, this one clearly being for milo, and the whole young, comforting, sort of expereince. I wonder how it'd look if they used a fantasy setting or something.
that's not true at all, rage and brink will be using mega textures and releasing on 360 and ps3.
What makes this more suitable for the 360 is the use of the hardware tessellator to calculate changes in vertices for the meshes...
That said, the ps3 has a similar method to re-create tessellation.
that's not what next gen should look like, that's what current PC's should look like.
All those effects, the compute shader techniques giving us the dof, blur and subsurface scattering, the tessellation on models, all that stuff is possible on PC's developers really need to start making the best of it.
We saw what crytek did with dx10/10.1, well, dx11 is here, why aren't developers using it.
that's kinda what you get when you take PC's and DX11 seriously.
halo 5 might be what they're calling the next halo game internally.
with reach being the 4th.
public displays of affection usually turn me off, regardless of who's doing it. I think it's disgusting when two fat people make out at mcdonalds, turns me off more then two guys holding hands.
