Take it from someone who works in one of the two largest game stores within the UK:
Kinect's "failures" are overblown nonsense.
- We have ours setup in our tiny store facing into a single aisle from the counter no more than 4/5 foot wide. Plays 'Fighters Uncaged' perfectly with no hiccups and 'Kinectimals' is fully responsive.
- My current work clothes are required to be all black as there are no Christmas based...
It sold 900K, which is great considering how sales trends are this generation.
Hell, it has Demon Souls beat by almost 200K units, but nobody on this site is going to admit to that when you look at the "fanbase".
All in all it is the most solid RPG this generation and a great contender for the top 10 JRPGs in the last decade. Shame the reviewers never did it justice thanks to the poor build they all received.
EDIT: And to say that ...
No sources? Ok.
Sony and Nintendo have both lost so much in the last three quarters they are both going bankrupt.
seewhutididthar?
Mmmmmmmm, tasty, tasty hyperbole.
These Kinect games alone for 2011 are pretty damn exciting:
- Codename D
- Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor
- Project Draco
- Rise of Nightmares
- Haunt
This isn't including the likes of announced games like Kingdom Under Fire, Kingdoms, XCOM or the games that we know are coming like PGR5 or a new Rare title, the latter having hinted at KI3 for too long now.
What the hell is this $hit? We're now trying to convince the masses not to buy something that they may fully well enjoy? We're trying to sway their opinion because it doesn't agree with our own? We're trying to piss all over other peoples taste because we're more just?
No. You're all (those who approved/agree with this) doing this because you're God damn retarded. You aren't gamers at all. You're tools. You're idiots attaching yourselve...
I'm loving your understanding of the number 5.
...Well, lack of.
ITT: People that don't understand the architecture of this generation's system.
Because it was actually a decent platformer with new concepts that made it fun?
Y'know when you bought that PS3 at launch? Did you bother to listen to anyone at all, or did you just hang onto Kaz's words and get that second job?
One man != whole studio. This is News4Playstation3 though, I would expect no less than hyperbole.
Wow. This looks pretty good and it's my first time hearing about it. Colour me impressed.
I'm more surprised the Wii hasn't got more games on the list.
360: 8
PS3: 5
Wii: 2
WiFi lags. Connections drop. Interference gets in the way. This is factual.
Wired > Wireless in terms of performance.
EDIT: I read your statement correctly, just wondering why tools were disagreeing with you.
"GamesThirst suspects, if developers would only make good games, then 'THERE' titles would sell pretty well."
"There"? That's the first sentence! Can we stop publishing these gaming blogs please? This is why there's so many "Top 10 reasons Sony's going to fail" or "Flamebait: Kinect is the second coming of Christ" all over the damn place. I WANT TO SEE NEWS!
PS, HolyOrangeCows - How have you not been...
This is pretty disappointing as 1 vs. 100 was a lot of fun. Luckily, I guess, I scooped up 90% of the achievements.
New questions were added to each category each time it launched (the category, not the season).
Not only that, if you were to google it, you had 3-4 seconds to type the lengthy question, wait until it displayed the appropriate website, click on the said website to get the answer which could take time depending on the web page.
However, there is the possibility of 4 people teaming up and using all of their heads, which is pretty unfair in retrospect.
Maybe if 'Joe Danger' looked appealing at all, they may have had an easier ride.
XBLA and XBLA Indie Games are one of a kind and there's obviously a lot of competition to get stuff out there, so naturally the better stuff gets piped through first, not by an orderly queue.
Oh noes, I praised the 'X' stuff.
The f*** is up with these kinds of things?
Lost Planet 2, All Points Bulletin, Alan Wake, The Saboteur and Singularity are all great games.
"OHNOEZ! These hunks of s*** ONLY SCORED EIGHT OUT OF TEN!!! THEY CAN LICK MY BALLZ!"
Grow the hell up.
You don't want others to be able to enjoy brand new experiences and additions to an already awesome game base because you don't want to shell out money?
I'm not jumping into Kinect anytime soon, but to deny others such things because you're a cheapass is... insane.
Bubbles for common sense.
Your points are moot. It is a PS3 version of the 360 BY DESIGN.
And onto your points:
- If people wanted to pay extra for Blu-Ray, they would by a PS3, hence why they choose the 360.
- Personally, I'd rather have no browser than a terrible one.
- Well, the PS3 doesn't have the Xenon/Xenos architecture.
- Again, persoanlly, I'd rather pay for an amazing experience than have an average one.
- That all spout games that...
They're not saying it can contribute graphics, they're saying that they're not using Kinect to its full capabilities.
From what I've played so far no game uses the voice recognition, which in itself adds a completely new dimension to gameplay available for the device. It's just the concept of layering these additions along with the creativity of developers in order to use Kinect to its full potential.
And sorry, you lost complete credibili...
