To get all the best Square JRPGs this gen you needed a PSP and a DS. Nier and othere great but Square's PSP lineup and DS lineup were just far better. With that said, Square also publishes Tomb Raider, Hitman, and other non-JRPG titles so they haven't really sucked this generation from strictly a publishing standpoint. FF13 and 13-2 aren't all that bad but I'll admit they're not nearly the quality of even FF12 but certainly not 4, 6, 7, 9, or 10.

Yeah not a reliable source plus Carmack has already shot down rumors of DOOM 4's cancellations a few times now. RAGE just came out so we probably shouldn't be looking for any news for DOOM 4 or news involving DOOM 4 being canceled because they haven't even gotten far enough in the project to have an idea of how it turn out or what it will be and putting the DOOM name on something alone will make it sell fairly well.

Sorry but "Due to a staggered launch in the USA, first week sales include the first edition bundle (70k units) that released February 15th, one week before the official launch.Even with those bundles factored in the Vita launch it's still one of the weakest launches for a portable in the US," That means it was the first week officially plus the first edition bundles, though I could see how it could be understood. Its not as if those numbers are accurate especially the US numbers...

Well the problem is how you define gamers. If it is someone who just plays games then you're saying that people who compromise a very large portion of the world are more likely to be depressed than others. The article suggests that people who played more(31 hours) than others(19) are more likely to be depressed which could very well be true but correlation does not prove causation.
My rebuttal to this article comes through my life experiences. When I was in high school, I know in...

Unfortunately this also works in reverse. The more Sony loses on Vita the less it has to invest in first party titles such as Gravity Rush. If Sony sold Vita for $100 it'd sell like crazy but it'd also bankrupt the entire Playstation division in less than a year. It's a balancing act. The $250 price point right now is what Sony believes. They're getting a decent install base and not losing too much getting there. When Sony can afford to or are forced to drop the price the pric...

He's not talking just about quality of games though. He's talking about the system sellers and the ones that are AAA by sales terms. GraveLord is talking about the COD, the Monster Hunter, the Final Fantasy , or the Pokemon/Mario kind of IP. FF10 remake, COD Vita, and hopefully a Monster Hunter game port or sequel could all be out this year.
Final Fantasy is the only one that people would question as a system seller so lets get this out of the way. Final Fantasy's name m...

It could happen by late October/late November because by then, the parts that make Vita will be considerably lower in price(min $30 in part prices alone) as well as a slight decrease in manufacturing costs. Sony would only be losing as much money as they are now if they drop it to $200 but $30 more per unit if they drop it $170. It really depends on the sales. If the US and EU markets show low but stable numbers like Japan did which is unlikely because its clear why Sony failed in Japan, then...

@ritsuka666 Actually they did what the fans asked them to. The same thing happened with Resistance 2. Insomniac listened to the fans and made that game worse as a result and then the silent majority who were fine with how things were before were pissed because of Resistance 2/Killzone 3. Sometimes game companies need to listen their fans but sometimes they should think about whether the suggestions actually make the game better.
Resistance 3 is another part of the same example. The p...

@NBT91 The full version is no longer pulling in all that much. Look at the prices at any retailer($20 at the most, lowest I seen was $8). Its very smart business. They stand to make a lot more from people paying to remove the cap or any other fees than they would off retail and the money they're making covers the cost of server maintenance. Every online game should do this when the retail price gets low enough.

And yet this doesn't mean anything. The Vita's hardware was in R&D for years, at least back to 2008 straight from Sony. I would hope that Sony had already been working on PS4 for at lest two years so it can be released by 2014/2015.

It works. You watch a bunch of ads to get points. That's how they make money. The shipping for the sites is horrible though. It takes forever. If you're patient and have a decent internet connection I'd recommend it for you. Otherwise other sites will have deals.

He hasn't but an English language option for the Hong Kong demo exists. Unfortunately you'd need an extra memory card since Vita's is locked to an account. I got an 8gb(came with the Vita) and 32 gb so I used the 8gb for my Japanese account. Like I said in a previous post, the cat doesn't even talk in the demo. It meows. Only someone who doesn't know what the kanji says(therefore has no story incite to offer)and played the Japanese version or hasn't seen it in English ...

@Hojo0003 The cat actually doesn't talk from what I've seen. It just meows. The kanji literally translates to the word Japanese people associate noises that cats make. If you actually could read kanji or played the Hong Kong/english version of the demo and weren't just making baseless assumptions, you'd know this. Also as person who admittedly watched Sailor Moon up until halfway though Super S(R was the best it went downhill from there), I can tell you the game is nothing lik...

Most people bitch about the ending but it was a well polished and very different Resistance game. It plays in similar to the first without regenerating health and has much darker story. As a result of the lack of regenerating health the pace slows down and you need to be far more careful. The main complaints I've heard are they took out the online coop system from Resistance 2, which was definitely one of its high points, and shrunk the competitive MP to 16 players. If a good single playe...

@Oschino1907 Guitar Hero may have never reached COD numbers but it made nearly as much money. Guitar Hero 3 alone made over 1 billion in revenue. For all intents in purposes it is the most revenue a non-Nintendo(Wii-fit and a few games) and non-COD title has ever made. In fact GH3 made more than any COD before MW2. So when people compare what Activision did with Guitar Hero to COD you should know that is by far the best example of an extremely successful franchise being spammed out that there...

Waiting on the reviews and a demo for this. Hopefully Ninja Theory don't screw it up. Heavenly Sword was great, but far too short. Enslaved told a good story but the gameplay was boring and not well designed. I hate the new look but if they can make a ame as fun as DMC/DMC3 or Bayonetta I'll be forced to buy it even with the horrible new look of Dante. They should really turn him back into his former self by the end of the game.

The 3DS did fine out of the gate(outpacing the DS launch) and its possible failure wasn't mentioned as a factor for why games were canceled in any press release. Developers sign contracts with publishers to get funds to make their games. Publishers want their investment back so they take the lowest risk which is continuing the project because even if the platform they're releasing it on fails, they still can port it to another one and make some sort of revenue. Its a much lower risk t...

@Montrealien He wasn't proved wrong in the sense that companies aren't going to drop projects on a whim. If they already have a multi-million dollar project halfway completed, you don't drop it. You finish it, release it, and try to make your money back. If the console fails which is unlikely in the case of the Vita, you lose more money than you would have or you find a way to turn it around. For instance, you can still port the project to another platform. If you cancel a project...

@killerhog You're forgetting games like Bayonetta, DMC, and Ninja Gaiden where the stories are horrible but the games are just fun. Then there's Demon's Souls, Shadow of the Colossus, and many other examples of completely minimalism when it comes to story but focus heavily on gameplay. These are some of the best single player experiences there are and they have no story. I would prefer to have both a great story and great gameplay but when choosing one or the other is gameplay is ...
