You can discount how old some of the games are and that many are PSN titles ut with this particular week if we're getting Disgaea 3 that's a strategy RPG that is incredibly deep deep and shouldn't be taken lightly. You could still download the latest firmware(nearly 200 mb) on PC(doesn't require a good connection at all) and set it up to transfer on a flash drive/ your phone/ PSP/ 3DS/ nearly anything whatever you have. I have friends who have never went online with their PS3, not out of choice, but because of where they live. No decent internet service providers=not good enough internet to even sign in to PSN.
The game was never cancelled. The team just works on multiple projects. Look at Nomura's released credited works just since the announcement of Versus 13. I'm the whole team has been doing something similar instead of focusing on the project. Now it's likely heading to next gen.
By not including B/C the new console is somewhat cheaper making the money from the trade in at least partially cancelled out right there. You include it and a good bit of the money from the trade in is just going toward the inclusion of that feature. I never sell my old stuff and I am considered poor by our government. I just patiently save and get the console a year or two after release.
It's true that PS3 has been profitable since at least 2010 making $20-70 a unit(depending on the year and SKU)for 2+ years is not going to get back the losses from the first year which exceeded $300 per console if average them. We don't know the second to fourth years but we have to assume from Sony's finances was mostly loss and maybe a very low profit margin. PS3 probably does not any losses due game sales however because Sony's Playstation's division is fine.
Not to mention the stuff Sony isn't working that is a new that was at the press conference like Watch Dogs and Destiny. Even there old IPs are being set in distant future/different environments and are not going to be directly related to the stories of the established IP outside of the game world.
To me Uncharted 3's flaw is that is focused to much on story and epic set pieces and not enough on what makes the campaign fun and replayable. For instance a number of times you are forced to fight the brutes hand to hand. Shooting the brutes only weakens them and shortens the cinematic fight. Vita was their best launch. Then no games came came months after the the launch. The launch period however had plenty of titles including some of its best games so far such as Uncharted Golden Abyss and Lumines. PS4 will likely have Killzone at launch and because it's a home console, it will get a lot more third party support than Vita does.
It's going to be interesting. Sony still needs way more Vita support. PS3 is easily supported for the rest of the year. We'll hear more on PS4 and what we have heard makes have more new content on the horizon than Vita due to third party support. I want ten new games announced at E3(or between now and E3) that are not little downloadable titles but full retail titles for Vita. I would take Madden 25 at this point
@Psychotica Ok I see your point but there are really easy work arounds for that though. Create a local profile for GFWL, which is essentially offline mode. Use it with playing Dark Souls. Problem solved. It's a not even problem on the console version, because there's an offline mode. If that wouldn't work you could always disconnect your router for second to make the go into offline mode because it won't just jump into online mode if you reconnect it while you are playing.
$350 is the cheapest they can possibly afford to go. $400 is cheapest they will go. $500 is the most the they afford they afford to charge to charge.

There is always a way to stop this kind of stuff from happening. Either disconnect your internet from PS4, cut it from the game(like Demon Souls and Journey lets you do), or learn to deal with it because it likely a big draw to the game. Even though they started with the story intro to Watch Dogs, the multiplayer and social integration have been key points Ubisoft have hitting from the first time it was demoed.

They likely do this. However this is the same Square Enix who didn't have enough sense to put Birth by Sleep on PSN when it released in the last active year of PSP before Vita. They put 3rd Birthday and Dissidia 012 up quickly so it's not like it's abstract idea. Anyways it may get a digital version as only the bundle as well.
