For me the option to allow purchasers to pay what they want makes the most sense here. That way the community could help reward the most talented modders out there, while providing a degree of regulation to help stop the inevitable stream of tat looking to cash-in.

I'm hyped.

I shouldn't be. These days both personally and from a game reviewing perspective I preach that everyone keeps a level-head, myself especially since trying to review a game that infected you with a massive marketing campaign never works.

In the modern industry the sheer level of artificial hype is insane and almost always seems to lead to disappointment. Not bad games, in all cases, just disappointment because they can't live up to the p...

Each to their own, of course. I've talked to a few people who quite liked the second half, and to be fair I get why. I also get what they were going for, I think, but it just adds to the feeling that Hardline has an identity crisis.

Or potentially a new Ouya style console, since everybody and their dog seems to be making one at the mo.

Well, that was a lot of pointless swearing. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind chucking in the occasional effing to make a point, but that was...er, overkill.

Anyway, didn't you answer your own question of who wanted Tomb Raider on Xbox One/PS4 when you pointed out it sold over 800k?

I'm not big on re-releases, but clearly there are people that want them, thus why should they not be released? Although the sheer amount of them this year has been ...

Do you have a genuine reason to distrust him?

Or is it that you just don't like or his style of reviewing or his opinions?

If you've got the monitor for it then yup.

So, they'll have it unlocked within about a day of release, then :P

What's actually stopping you from reviewing it? From what I've read a lot of people have encountered a number of bugs and glitches, but none that are actually game breaking or that halt progress, at least not that I've heard of yet.

And the point of a review is to tell people if you think a game is worth buying or not, regardless of the state. By waiting you're depriving people of information that could persuade them one way or another.

With t...

It's a good point.

The tricky part comes when someone like myself, who actually wrote the review, didn't have too many problems. I can't write about something I didn't experience.

At the same time, that doesn't excuse the developers or deny the existence of the problems. Clearly there's problems for a hell of a lot of people, especially with PC.

On my end I most just got some NPC pop-in, and framerate drops, but the dr...

These days getting a free game arriving in the post is not different than one arriving from Amazon. The gamer in me gets a thrill, not at the lack of cost but at the prospect of playing X title, because ultimately I freaking love games. But the fact that it's free or paid for doesn't even cross my mind these days. Games arriving is commonplace, the idea of them being free has lost its novelty and doesn't matter to me.

If a publisher doesn't like the review, to...

I'll throw in a quick three cents if nobody minds, since I'm on the side of the fence that gets review code.

I run a small website entirely on my own. The audience ain't huge, but what's there means the world to me. Happily it's big enough that I get pretty consistent review code from the big publishers and smaller companies, too.

Firstly it must be said that without review copies, I wouldn't have gotten this far. I simply wouldn'...

Destiny hasn't been as sociable as I hoped.

Like the author here, I have some problems with friends being a high rank that me. One of my closest friends is a 26, and I've only just hit 18. As a result, if we want to play together he kind of has to meander around and only occasionally help out. Mostly he sits around, because if he gets involved he'll annihilate most things and leave me with nothing.

Likewise if I join him, I'm so screwed. Compl...

But hold on, you just used the word "solid" to descirbe the mechanics, campaign and multiplayer. Solid is hardly a word that indicates something great, it would indicate something good, something decent. Or in other woods, a 3/5

As for 4.5, that's amazing territory right there, not "solid"

I'm replaying this having picked it up during a sale a little while back on PC.

Previously I played it on console, so I'm also enjoying the smoother experience, and slightly better graphics, although the difference is marginal. Was never graphically impressive from a technical sense.

There's a lot of problems like the stiff facial animations and meh combat, but overall it remains one of my favorite games.

Reads like a rather rushed review, and almost feels as though it uses the beta as its foundation rather than the main game. For example, talks about Dinkelage's performance in comparison to the beta, but no mention of any other actors?

Would like to have known how many hours the author sunk into the game given that servers only just went up. As a social game, it needs to be judged as such.

The quality of the story is glossed over, the crucible barely ment...

I don't know about biggest problem, but by heck do the slow installs annoy me, especially when you bring home a game you've been dying to play and just have to sit around waiting for the damn think to install on the tiny hard-drive, before having to download a bloody huge patch.

Yeah, Wolfenstein: The New Order, I'm looking at you.

Yeah, but with a pun as bad as that he must really have hit rock bottom.

It really is worth picking it up. You could always go for the PC version, if you're PC is capable of running it, unless, of course, you're picking up a PS4 version soon.

Absolutely agreed. The artificial hype machine that the industry uses is a dangerous tool, and has hurt countless games. It doesn't matter how good the game is, there reaches a point when the hype is so great that it can never deliver.

And in Respawn's defense, they didn't hype it up. The media did, and Microsoft did, to an unfair degree.

The game is great. Fantastic, even, depending on who you ask, but it could never live up to those expectations...
