The directX APIs restrict PC developers from programming to the metal (Low Level GPU Programming) so most of that power is inaccessible anyway. I don't know from what dimension or planet you come from but PC architecture has been the same since when I was born. Windows has always been based on x86 and it wasn't until recently with Windows 8 that MS is finally supporting a new architecture, ARM.

me too. I don't buy stuff just because there is a deal, that's the same as trowing money to the trash (and even worse if it's digital because you can't even re-sell it). I buy games that I want to play and that I know I I'll have the time to play.

yeah but now it's supposed to be easier because of more familiar architecture (x86) +other enhancements like unified Ram, etc.
2 examples:
1. PS4 allows devs to program to the metal while the PC does not because of directX and Windows restrictions.
2. consoles have unified ram, the PC does not.
