They should have released this much earlier, at least not when Bayonetta is on the horizon.
This is GOTY in my opinion. Absolute blast to play it! Racing has never been more fun, and enthusiasts will absolutely love the customization options. Truly and undeniably deserving of the crown in this genre.
The only thing I'm facing is a bunch of people who can't accept criticism. I haven't said anything about the game except that it isn't mainstream, which is every bit true, and that the box art doesn't do the game any marketing favor. If you're not just an unschooled kid and you really think presentation doesn't affect sales (just like how you might have disbelieved price affected sales), then you should try coming back down to reality.
Isn't it evident from this long thread that the only ones worried and whining about GOW3 being killed are the PS3 fanboys? Just like how it was with Uncharted 2/ KZ 2 when MW2 came out. Now that is truly pathetic.
Bayonetta is going to be No. 1 in gameplay mechanics, and 360 is the superior version, so get over it.
If I've never heard or paid much attention to a game, it will be the box art that catches my eye when I'm in the store. This box art looks sterile and characterless and is uninformative about the type of game it is.
This game already doesn't have mainstream appeal. With a box art like that, it is just looking to fail in sales.
Forza 3 is GOTY. Too bad driving simulators aren't appreciated as much as shooters, that's why MW2 will be GOTY.
PS3 fans don't have to fret over getting the vastly inferior version of this game because the game is honestly mediocre at best despite Famitsu's score. And I say this based on completing the game on the superior version. The graphics are really bad at times, sometimes reminiscent of Bullet Witch which was crap. Gameplay is way too repetitive, story is boring, characters are ridiculous and script is horrible.
This game is gonna rock on the definitive console version.
I wonder if it can match Bayonetta as a hack and slasher?
They don't need to add what is already there.
I wish people would accept that video games are loved because they're games and not because they are art, movie or anything else.
PS3 fanboys seem very threatened by potentially great multiplatform games. They're always trying to put them down, it is just a sad sad syndrome.
Uncharted 2, for all its brilliance, was pretty much the same game as Uncharted 1. I'll still score it high, just as I would Gears 2 and Modern Warfare 2 (if the latter is at least as good as the first one).
