Put fanboyism aside, read the review and realize that it makes some good and valid points:-
"Exploring the environment involves a needlessly awkward set of controls that have you stumbling around like a drunk PSone-era Resident Evil character."
"Your only interaction with the game world is via quick time event sequences, where a twist of the stick opens a door or turns on a tap. Unfortunately the game is absolutely obsessed with these two activities, ...
It brings tears to my eyes to see so many people upset.
This is a problem for games that are all about story and little gameplay. For games with gameplay, getting through the story is a fun process and spoilers wouldn't matter so much.
Good game it seems, but playing it through might be a chore 'cos of the bad controls. Anyone knows who the killer is?
I played the demo a coupla times, my problem with the game is that many of the QTE sequences are inconsequential to how the story unfolds, which makes you wonder what's the point,
I just tried the demo, and my biggest gripe is with the gameplay controls.
"The look of the game has been beefed up immensely, with the character animation smoother and a much darker tone of colours used than before. Worth a note was the complete lack of on screen bars and menus, freeing up the screen for action. The aim is to use the environment to show how you are doing, so if you are getting a kicking the screen will blur or even bleed." - Wonderwallweb
Butt hurting some.
As long as it looks better than WKC I reckon.
Lol! Snp, so a self-serving company that decided never to develop games on a pc in order to protect their own console's sales is less culpable (from a pc gamer's perspective) than a company that has always developed games on both console and pc but now decided that 1 game is not going to the pc? Just get off your high horse there, you're just trying too hard to make your fanboyism sound clever!
"The graphics have been boosted quite a bit, as well. While the last game had smallish, cramped dungeons, Fable III's are more expansive. The general world is pretty nice and lush, as well. It's obvious at a glance that this sequel looks much better than Fable II." - from Destructoid.
Sorry to disappoint your PS3 fanboy sentiments.
PS3 fanboys are suddenly so sympathetic towards PC gamers... I have to wonder why they never criticized Sony for not bringing games to the PC? Maybe they also mistakenly believe that the PC can't handle Sony exclusives lol!
Horrible game it seems.
Just because I think that your preferred reviewer has no credibility doesn't make me a troll, I'm afraid. Like I've said, respectable sites do not have to resort to denigrating others in order to make their point, and reasonable people should tend to agree with that.
No wonder they call themselves Extremists. A respectable reviewer would not be criticizing other reviewers of being bull or moronic. That sounds like what some Extreme PS3 fanboys on this site would say and we know there's no credibility with such people.
Nice. Just like the good scores for GOW 3 and Heavy Rain.
I'm playing GOW1 now from the HD collection, and I'd say it is about a 7, not a 6.
Giving your games excuses makes you guys feel good, no?
No they gave it a 9. Don't go imagining that its a 9.4 or 9.5. It is just a 9.
Yes, just like Bioshock 2 and Gears 2 are similar to 1. GOW 3 being similar to 1 AND 2 should have 2 points deducted instead of 1.
Don't you in good conscience feel that what you've just said is an apt and accurate description of you and your cohorts? Honestly, I didn't think I'd get through this comments section without reading at least 20 predictable and baseless comments accusing the reviewer of being biased and/ or dumb, and I was of course right.
