It won't cost that much for an indie developer. Also 1.2mil is not realy expensive for an engine for a larger studio, and is in line with most engines (unreal 3 included)

I am in the exact same position - but I think the main reason for my change is that I can afford to buy all the games I want to play now. So I do, and I take more risks with new games than I ever did before.
If I hadn't pirated all these games through high school and university I don't think I'd be in the gaming industry.

I understand how the trophies work - I don't understand why people are whining about them (like this article's author). More games should do what ME3 is doing.
This might be more related to profile data needing to be erased rather than to discourage used sales. There is a limited amount of memory on the game card, so it needs to be cleared.
I don't get the complaint about the MP being optional. What I don't want to see is MP specific trophies for a game that will die within a month or two (with respect to MP). More games should do this.

It's pretty funny how people don't realize that other team-mates are relying on them. My KDR is 1.8 but my win loss ratio is almost 4.8 - I care more about my win loss ratio than my KDR. However, I also play on PC and it is the same story. My stats are considerably worse on PC, 1.4 KDR and 2.25 WLR, but I usually play on my own, on PS3 I have a bunch of friends I play with. We don't like to lose matches.
I try to maintain both. I almost wish there wasn't stats we could look at, then I would just play the game without thinking about them.

I don't think you understand what he was talking about.. he's saying it's sad because these were standard features in the past before consoles took over and PC started getting console ports instead of the other way around.
