I just want to start seeing Nintendo develop some games with real scale and ambition and put some production value behind them. Could you imagine a Metroid game with Halo's production value?

@ Jumper09,

How about you get a clue!

"industry leading chips" could mean anything though. It could mean industry leading mobile chips. We'll just have to wait and see. However I certainly wouldn't take comfort in assuming that NX is going to be more powerful than PS4 or X1 going just by that quote.

Agreed. I don't get why everyone has such an erection for this "game." It just looks like boring creation tools like Project Spark. Will there even be a game attached to this like in Little Big Planet? At least I was able to play that and ignore all level creation stuff.

LOL@ the disagrees. What you said is 100% fact. Some people just choose to be ignorant to it I guess.

100% agree!

They are if they're simply solutions in search of problems instead of features that are truly needed. That's when they become gimmicks. Nintendo introduced analogue stick control. THAT was innovation because it was needed and we still use it to this day. Motion control was a gimmick that quickly faded out because people soon discovered that it didn't improve upon anything and soon went back to traditional controls.

So you're not arrogant but you go on to make a broad-sweeping statement like "the majority who play Fifa follow trends" and "Captain Toads Treasure Ttacker might just be the tonic they need." As if somehow those gamers are "sick" and only Nintendo exclusives can "cure" them LOL wow!

Please! Those early Wii U 3rd party titles were crappy ports of mostly older games. 3rd parties never took the system seriously. You are completely delusional if you think Nintendo can release a successful console by being the sole or majority provider of its content. My "numbers" comment was in reference to the low amount of WiiU's sold.

Thats still a very shallow pool to choose from.

Thats also pretty arrogant of you to assume what gamers do and do not have time for. Its also arrogant of you to assume that every "AAA classic" on the WiiU is loved by all. Mario Maker was a media darling but I had no interest in it. The point of having a large library of 1st AND 3rd party games...you twit... isn't just so console owners will play more games. Its to provide variety to accommodate gamer's v...

Nintendo has 3rd party titles???

What are these 2017/2018 games that you speak of?

3796d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Titanfall did not do "gangbusters" and much of its sales came from it being bundled with Xbone.

Agree 100%. I prefer single player experiences. I like multiplayer as an added feature but never as the primary reason to buy a game. The exception to that is Destiny because the emphasis is on co op play which I much prefer to competitive play. Also, multiplayer games inherently have an expiration date. Eventually gamers will move on to something else and that leaves you with a worthless game. If it has a single player mode, at least thats something you can play over and over after t...

To be fair, it was much easier to fill up a magazine that only came out once a month with real gaming content than it is a website that covers it 24/7.

Tell that to the shareholders. At the end of the day, that's who Nintendo answers to and no, hearing "well we made a profit" won't be acceptable to them.

I think its fair to say the sun is definitely setting on it quickly. 2016 will see the last remaining major releases and that will be it. The market has spoken and they have made it clear that it doesn't want the Wii U. It just wouldn't make good business sense for Nintendo to continue to support it when no one wants it. Yes it has an 11 million userbase but the reality is in a global market, that is an insignificant number, especially for a nearly 4 year old console. Xbox One has ...

The well is quickly running dry. Might as well face reality sooner rather than later. Wii U will get what's already been announced for 2016 and that will be it. Going forward all the focus will be on NX.

"3rd parties are not the center of the gaming universe."

Haha! Keep telling yourself that but it doesn't make it true and the numbers show it.

3rd parties are critical to a console. There's only so many first party developers and it takes time to get games out, especially Nintendo who has such a high standard of quality with their games (which I applaud btw). 3rd party games are absolutely important to a console to keep a steady stream of ...
