Hey Platinum, After you guys release TMNT you should look into getting the license and making a proper Godzilla game! The one that released on PS4 was an abomination! We NEED a proper Godzilla title and I think you guys would kill it!
So what the hell would anyone play on it? Old Dreamcast games? You can buy a used Dreamcast system to do that.
Yes because games with "cool factor" can't be fun, right? Geez, too many Nintendo fans are so far up their own ass it's ridiculous! Get over yourselves! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and despite what so many uppity Nintendo fans might think, there ARE many gamers out there that think Nintendo IP's are shit. Stop trying to defend your purchase by acting like Nintendo has cornered the market on fun when it comes to videogames.
Exactly right!
@Loadedklip
Well said!
I'll also add that it goes much farther than just the quantity of games. It's the complete disconnect between Nintendo and the pulse of the modern day gamer and what they are looking for in their gaming experiences these days. Nintendo's network ecosystem is like 10 years behind MS and Sony's. That's a huge reason why gamers are largely uninterested in Nintendo consoles.
We're in year 5 of the 3DS and year 4 of the Wii U. 5 year cycles are usually how Nintendo releases their hardware. If they release the hand held component at the end of this year and the console component next year, they'll be right on schedule with what they've always done.
Nope. Might as well wait for the NX at this point. The Wii U is a lost cause.
I'd just be happy with a new Virtua Fighter.
That's a horrible fit. MS has no presence in Japan and many of Sega's games are Japanese-centric. It would've made more sense to me for either Nintendo or Sony to buy Sega.
First in line eh? With absolutely no knowledge of what it would be, what kind of support it would have, nothing? Geez if you're that into supporting lost causes you may as well buy an Ouya and a Wii U.
Wish I could get it in this color without the Nathan Drake image on it.
Everyone here saying "I'd buy it in a heart beat" What exactly do you think you would be getting? It's not like Sega would suddenly rise from the ashes like a phoenix and start cranking out high quality AAA games again. They are a shell of what they once were. They can't even put out a decent Sonic game anymore. At best this system would be BC with original DC games and maybe see some ports of current Sega games like Yakuza and Alien Isolation. 3rd parties wouldn'...
MS owns the Hydrthunder IP.
I'm annoyed that PS4 still doesn't have certain streaming apps like ESPN, HBO Now, NFL Network, A&E, Sci Fi, etc. Does MS have exclusivity deals with ALL of these? Otherwise, how can the global console leader (by a wide margin) not have these while the Xbox One does?
I used to be a part of the "PC Master Race" but I got out of it. Why? Because once I started down that rabbit hole, I was CONSTANTLY spending time and money upgrading, tweaking, troubleshooting, etc. Anything I could do just to eek out as much performance as I could. I was obsessed with it. More so that just playing games. Finally I got tired of that "rinse and repeat" cycle over and over and stopped. I bought a console and never looked back. I know fully well that...
I definitely think they need to branch out. Of course keep all the iconic IP's that put them on the map but they should look into creating a couple of development studios specifically to make more mature-related games. Also, just strengthening their 3rd party relationships will take care of a lot of this issue.
I would imagine that a lot of the drop in profit is due to R&D costs for NX.
The only reason I'm not in favor of a 2017 launch is because the longer Nintendo waits to launch, the more potential owners they are losing to PS4 and X1. Mid-generational launches are not typically successful and the longer Nintendo waits to launch, the odds continue to stack against them for the NX to succeed.
@brokeasfawk
It may not be a half assed game but that sure was a half assed deal Square/Enix made with MS to prevent me from playing it this past holiday season . Theyre not seeing a dime of my money! I plan on buying it used. Is that petty and spiteful? Damn right it is but its deserved when a company does such a thing.
@BadBoyC
Damn skippy!
Xbox has only ever been relevant in two territories, the UK and the US. The X1 hasn't "fallen off" like the article suggests. It's doing exactly what it's always done, which is sell well in the US and UK and not so well anywhere else. It's out pacing sales of the 360 so how can it be falling off? The PS4 is just selling at a historically unprecedented rate, even out pacing the PS2. The bottom line is X1 and PS4 are doing well. One doesn't have to fail in ord...
