ok, for maximum dumbass effect I'll paraphrase what this guys is saying.
"consoles are doomed because they aren't multi-cored like PC's. The wii is perfect because its a single cored console not trying to be a PC."
Hey great, to not be doomed, you must emulate that which by my own logic is already doomed as well. sweet.
Furthermore the wii is perfect simply due to price. If it were $600.00 nintendo would be having problems as well. ...
yes but whining about whining is still A-OK obviously. You're right though, and I have no intention of buying the game now, or of course, the downloadable content. Nice avatar though! Moving along...
Please people the cost is only justified if the reasoning is: we want to make more money. Sure, nothing wrong with that but lets be straight up.
They have sold the same songs bundled up in the previous games for much less. If they insist on nickel-and-diming us, they should at least have a "GH1 Bundled purchase" for approx 50 bucks or something, allowing full download of the first game, OR picking 3 songs for 6 bucks. I doubt that'll happen though.
I don't have a problem with bioshock going to ps3, and I guess I'm a "microsoft fan" - I just like it because its cheaper. Bioshock looks like a great game, and I'm not stupid enough to hate someone for their choice of console, so I'm all for it being allowed to get into as many hands as possible. It can increase the chances of a sequel if you have a deeper fan base.
sorry man but youre wrong here. i run bootcamp on my mac pro, it boots windows xp,in addition to mac os X and im running an ati radeon x1900xt. its a great gaming rig. Not the absolute best on the market, but it does the job.
It's a lotta dough for a paltry amount.
This is one area where I think sony did a very nice thing. Being able to upgrade to whatever drive you want is quite nice. Isn't sony using regular hard drives too, rather than the laptop drive?
Intel has been shipping dual core xeons@ 3 ghz for nearly a year, and have started shipping the 8 core xeons as well. thsi isn't a "battle" its a game of catchup.
Previously I wasn't a big intel fan but I must admit, their multi-core chips are very impressive.
I don't need to understand sony's strategy. It's not a consumers job. My job as a consumer is to decide whether its worth $600.00 and my answer (personally) is no.
Regarding your comments on sony's future proofing - You are completely right, the cell chip shows much potential. The graphics card however, will show age over time, and become obsolete despite the cells power. Trying to "future proof" something like a computer for 10 years is nearly impossible, as t...
@slippymadfrog
wow! we certainly have it easier than you that is for sure.
The reason why the ps2 remains to be as successful as it is, is because parents can afford it. Don't believe me? The wii, which is just as new as the ps3 already has an install base of approx 6 million people - its affordable.
Some have suggested that "once you buy it you'll know where the money went." Well, even before I buy it, I should know where the money...
I have the dual core xeon mac pro and the thing is a beast! Not too many of us actually need that much CPU, but its nice to know its out there.
It's the price. I'd buy one if it didn't cost nearly as much as my monthly rent does. Thats just sick. To all of you who could/can afford it and have already purchased one or are planning on it, great. I've said this over and over again but I just cannot justify that cost, and if Sony gets away with successfully selling a console for $600.00, the next gen consoles will have a much higher likelihood of costing that as well. That's just not right.
rumors flying all over the place that its not going to be exclusive, I can only hope they are true. I'd buy a ps3 if it were cheaper, for GT, and a few others. I won't pay 600 bucks for any console period. I don't want any console manufacturer to think they they can get away with it either, because that only means the next gen would be 700 bucks. No way. I'm broke, I could barely afford the 360. If exclusives are going to be less frequent this gen, and more things go multiplatform (and I...
You have a section called "FAQ's" where not a single question is asked. No offense, or maybe offense, I dunno, thats just funny to me. Cheers I guess man.
*edit* Jolly I stand corrected. Ty for the mature conversation :)
Look it up, anything running on 1080p component out on the 360 is upscaled, by that ANA chip they announced as their whole "secret weapon" deal near the launch of ps3. It was activated via a firmware upgrade around the same time. Here's a link:

there should be quite a few other links supporting this info as well. To be clear, upscaling is not...
Jolly1, you're right about the resolutions being the same and the reason for hdmi exising (content protection) however, its a fact, that signals which are converted from digital, to analog, then back to digital take a hit in image quality. It's ideal to get as few of those conversions as possible, and an hdmi cable keeps it purely digital the whole time. That means that ultimately in theory the possibility for a better image quality is there, now whether or not it is or not I couldn't say. Fu...
How dare they even get involved in any rumor I read on the internet about making a game for a console I don't like. I'm calling my lawyer and writing my congressman. No way should they be allowed to make any money without my say so.
as a publicly traded company they have a legal obligation to their shareholders to make as much stinking money as possible. Not stroke some fanboy pole over something so trivial. Dont be surprised to see the same thing happen to M$, exclusives won't be nearly as abundant this gen.
No LAWYER should be citing religious text to bolster his claims. Whatever his opinion may be, its clear its a faith based one. It has no room in politics, end of story. I think there might even be something in the constitution about... I dunno, a seperation between church and state?
If he can claim religious indignation over a lawsuit similar to the ones he's throwing all over the place, I'm pretty sure he's applying this very same logic to the work our tax paying dollars go to wast...
Fanboy war < Real War.
GW takes it hands down.
