That was all fairly incomprehensible...I'm not sure you know at all what you are talking about. Gears Of War, while utilizing the Unreal 3 engine, still necessitates high performance hard ware to run it. Its not like the enginer magically bestowes the ability to outperform its specs. The graphical prowess of the 360 does not come strictly from the engines that run on it, but rather from a combination there of. So far what we've seen from the PS3 has been impressive in comparison with titles w...
Very much looking forward to this game, anxious to hear a bit more about its online features and what specific downloadable content once it reaches the United States though...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was confirmed that there would be kiosks, but not until after the launch...
voluptuary, I for one hope you ARE alone, the fact that you'd even say that is ridiculous. Dislike someone all you want, but you should never wish death on them...
gametime, you are well near one of the worst on this site. I have never witnessed you provide one ounce of good contribution to any discussions...
Actually the greater issue is the lack of driver support for graphics cards from ATI and the inferior drivers provided by NVidea. Its quite possible to get essentially any PC game playing on linux, though its not easy. The biggest issue is that few of the drivers offer the performance they should or are incredibly unstable.
Madden '07 is one of the worst game examples I can think of...horribly buggy...
There is one major issue with all of this. Microsoft has absolutely NO experience in processor design, by FAR the most complicated and difficult portion of any computing system. I'm not saying they can't go out and hire people that do, but no matter what they do, they aren't going to be able to put together enough experience to come close to matching a company such as Intel or IBM in terms of processor design. If anyone thinks the amount of money Sony threw at PS3 development is ridiculous, i...
As do you CG, not one of these companies could care less about anyone here. When it comes to an individual, everyone is meaningless to all of them.
Personally, I think IE still has a fair amount of catching up to do to match either Firefox or Opera, and while I like some things about Opera, like the widgets and so on, for the most part they don't really seem to be anything that makes the experience any better for me except for when I'm bored enough to play around with them. Firefox seems to load webpages MUCH faster on average than Opera 9 does, at least right now, and though I haven't used IE7 since the early betas, from what I remember...
From some of the reviews of read, such as that on CNET, Firefox 2 also shrinks text for printing and by and large most features that aren't necessarilly built into Firefox are available through the much MUCH larger add-in library that Firefox has in comparison to IE. In addition, Firefox 2 complies with more standards thatn IE does now. IE tends to use more Microsoft proprietary methods...granted...all of this for the most part is from various reviews I've read. I personally use Linux and so ...
This guy is a complete and total idiot, one of the worst things to happen to the US in quite a while. A perfect example of whats wrong with the US actually. Any politician that aligns themselves with this guy will never get my vote...
This is completely and utterly ridiculous. Tell me, why should they not allow this when so many other games allow straight kissing? There is nothing wrong with it whatsoever. If you want this removed, remove kissing from all games. The homophobic atmosphere in the United States is absolutely ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with homosexuals and they should have EVERY right that straight people have. It may not be the life style that you or I may choose to live, but there's no reason why onl...
thugbot...you are referring to cache, not system RAM, both the Cell and RSX have their own dedicated 512 MB of RAM, but each can access the others...
The original PlayStation had a shelf life of ten years, what makes you think the PS2 won't as well, or the PS3 in the future? As long as they make them, they will sell, the only question is how well. Obviously the PlayStation sold well enough for them to keep producing more...so who knows...
Both the Cell and RSX have access to all 512 MB of RAM in the PS3 as each can access the other's memory...
You aren't proving yourself to be any better with that comment. I respect you for some of the news you've posted, but you as much as anybody need to retain some objectivity in the discussions.
I believe you mean Jak and Daxter ;)
However, you are entirely correct. You cannot tell how games will perform on a system based on specs unless they are absolutely, ridiculously, separated by said specs.
Both Microsoft and Sony have skewed their specs to make their console appear to come out on top in the performance area. I happen to believe the PS3 is going to be the more powerful of the two based upon my own analysis of the specs provided for each console. Th...
As far as karaoke, the PS3 does have Singstar which was briefly presented at E3 and as far as the EyeToy camera, the Eye of Judgement game would not work without. As far as kid's games, far as I can tell, so far you are right with the sole exclusion of sports games which are entirely accessible to everyone.
Here's a thought for you Mart, maybe the specs of the RSX were never changed and thats why Sony hasn't felt the need to release the "real" specs again as you so eloquently put it. Either way, they have no obligation to do so and frankly, the games that have been demonstrated bare witness to the fact that its plenty powerful enough. Considering that the PS3 is infamously hard to program for in your eyes, it stands to reason that developers will get more out of the RSX in the future t...
