If you need proof, take a stroll through the engineering campus of any major University in this country. you'll have a major wake up call. We are good at SOME things and terrible at others. It was definitely batteries and NOT the cell processor. They were batteries from computers that have been shipped for years. In addition, 6 batteries were reported as causing incidents out of over 4 million...hmmm...that doesn't really seem too bad to me...

Gaming has grown immensely since when it USED to be defined by the purchases of parents. Most consoles since the last generation of consoles have been bought by the intended user as gaming has continued to expand to older and older users.
HD-DVD isn't blowing Blu-Ray away in sales. Neither is selling well at all. yes HD-DVD is selling better, but not by the margin you imply.

This could have very little impact or a big impact. The fact of the matter is that those who are on the fence over which to buy and intending to use whichever they do buy for movies, may very well be pushed to the PS3 now. The question is, how many people fall into that category. If you are looking for movies, games, and wireless connectivity I think more people would look toward the PS3. If you're looking for just games and movies, the split is likely very even, though PS3 might have an edge...

Nowhere have I read developer comments stating that the 360 is going to pull away from the PS3, in terms of graphics, in the long run. In fact everything I've read says the opposite. The 360 is clearly not at all outperforming the PS3 by a large margin. In many cases the games look on par or slightly superior on the PS3. Granted, they should for the money they're charging you. In addition, what you're saying may be true in the case of a standard PC (I say MAY because even that can't be proven...
