"Get ready to experience the most realistic steering wheel ever made. With 900 degrees of wheel rotation, the Logitech® Driving Force Pro duplicates the true to life steering dynamics of cars like never before on your PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. And for games that don´t support 900 degree steering, the wheel automatically switches to standard 200-degree mode. That 10 MB of eDRAM would be of interest only if it were used as a data store which it is NOT, because of this it has absolutely NO impact whatsoever on the performance area I was discussing, in fact that 10 MB is actually something akin to a cross between regular RAM and a cache in terms of speed, but is entirely unsuitable to use as a datastore. This in effect limits its use, to strictly a buffer for the GPU.

Additionally, I'll point out that the link you provided proves absolute...

Thanks DJ, glad it was appreciated.

Just a quick correction to it, the 360 will obviously most definitely use all 512 MB of its RAM, I meant to say that anyone who tells you that its GPU will ever use all 512 MB, they are pulling the wool over our eyes, because simply put, the CPU would more or less grind to a halt if the GPU did that...

Lets quickly analyze everything you've stated. I've designed memory systems more than a few times in the last couple months, so I will speak on that later, but first...

No where has Sony or ANY developer stated exactly what percentage of the PS3's "power" as everyone is referring to it, is used by the OS while a game is running. Everything released has been nothing but rumor.

No for RAM, the 360 and PS3 BOTH suffer from problems with RAM and take very different...

You don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about do you, 99% of whats been shown of this game has been entirely in-engine.

Resistance looks better than a significant number of current 360 games, but to answer your question, they are not first party at all as Insomniac is not owned by Sony.

While I'll admit the possibility, I think everyone, including yourself, has to admit that the chances the 360 sells better than PS3 in Japan, even just through the end of 2006 are fairly slim. The sense of nationalism instilled in Japan likely can't allow it. And even if the 360 some how manages to sell better through the end of the year, the chances that it keeps that lead for long into 2007 are virtually nil. This has nothing at all to do with the quality of either console, but specifically...

While the amount itself is not large compared to state budgets, almost every state in the USA currently has a budget deficit and so, can ill-afford to be wasting money in such a way.

While I've been impressed by this game, saying that "NOTHING" can be it or that only the PS3 is capable of pulling it off is more than a little unrealistic. As was said in the interview, their goal was for something that they viewed as entirely achievable, and if thats the case I see no reason that the 360 couldn't handle it equally well, if under different programming methods. In addition, if there is one thing that gaming has shown in the past and will continue to, NO game is ever...

Tell me, how am I treating PS3 as if its something dear to me. Frankly, electronics don't matter a whole lot to me, nice to have, but thats about it. I "attack" TopGamer as you so eloquently put it because what he said there was an outright lie. And what he says is often not right. You may think so, but 99% of everything he ahs ever said is strictly opinion and no matter how you try to cut it that makes it entirely subjective and certainly not necessarily factual. Far as out doing h...

"i understand why this would bother people but seriously, this is like complaining that your car is having a hard time mowing the lawn."

I have to say that is one of the best things I've read on this site...not that I necessarilly agree with you though. The price of a decent HDTV can be prohibitively high, so it makes perfect sense for some people to play on their PC monitors if possible. Its not something I'd do, as per your comment about screen size, but I can defin...

You attack the PS3 and Sony every chance you get, you are hardly innocent of the very thing you criticize some PS3 fans for. Give it a rest, all you do is promote the 360 at the expense of the PS3, the most neutral and unbias you've ever been on this site consists of SOME of what you've said in this topic, but that ahrdly dismisses all the ridiculous attacks you've made in the past. I don't know if you really do have a PS3, but to be honest I'd be amazed if you do considering there have been ...

lalaland, you actually reminded me of another slight performance flaw in the 360. For the VMX-128 units, the 128 refers to 128 registers. A basic rule of thumb is that the more registers you have, the slower they all perform since memory latency increases with size. If the modified instruction set is sufficiently optimized it may be able to mitigate this issue, however, having more registers is not necessarily a good thing. This only helps if you tend to have a significantly high portion of y...

To be entirely honest, neither the 360 or PS3 are half as impressive as the XBox and PS2 were respectively when they were released. The GAMING experience isn't nearly as smooth on either of them, granted that happens as the technology becomes more powerful...

Actually, its pretty widely believed that the Cell will be used to aid the RSX in some graphics work while not busy doing other things. The architecture of the PS3 is particularly well suited to this, much more so than any past consumer electronics device.

As far as instructions, instruction fetching between PS3 and X360 are essentially identical, and it isn't by means of a simple, single-issue, in-order-execution design. They both possess a superscalar architecture, in-order-...
