Blu-Ray does have far more industry support though which gives it, at least a slightly better chance of surviving in the long run
Sorry about that, I know I've done that to some degree or another on the few articles I've posted. I tend to have very little time to post because I find articles right before I have class or need to head off to the lab for my processor design course.
They said explicitly that it IS global, but that it doesn't stop the dev's from implementing a secondary one of their own if they desire to...
Its an understandable comment, granted you obviously disagree, but Blu-Ray is a nice inclusion for anyone that is going to use it. The built in Wi-Fi is something that some people would use, the HDMI cable on 360 is not guaranteed yet, and the online gaming from reviews doesn't seem to be half bad. Wi-Fi is only unreliable at the edges of the network, and in addition is plenty fast enough considering that your standard wireless-G router transfers data FASTER than your broadband internet conne...
"Bill Gates" i was just referring to the importance of legacy apps and bc in general. Do I think that the drop of 200 out of the gigantic library of past games is a big deal, no, not at all. I'm just stressing the fact that bc is important. I very much applaud Sony for having the bc that they do compared with Microsoft's comparatively slim offerings. Next time I'd refrain from attacking people simply because you feel they may have inadvertently attacked something you obviously adore...
Is it really that hard to believe that this reviewer may have liked Resistance more? I know plenty of people that aren't too fond of Halo, and it all comes down to personal preference. Should anyone who prefers PS3 go around claiming every positive spin on a 360 game was bought and paid for by Microsoft?
Most of the reviews I've read indicate a fairly good AI, so I'm not sure where you are getting this. I though the poor AI rumor was fairly thoroughly debunked a while ago...
you DO realize that the number one driving force over hardware adaptation in the computer era is backwards compatibility right? You do know that Windows would never have become dominant without software BC don't you? BC was a key selling point of the PS2 in its early days...There's no reason to think it may not have a similar effect these days...
Actually, with every PS3 NOT sold Sony loses more money since they produce the consoles either way. If they sell them, at least they get some return on the investment, even if it doesn't make up the entire cost. However if they don't sell them, then they have to absorb the entire cost of the unsold console...
would you be saying the same thing if it was someone from Bungie saying that they were aiming for visuals to eclipse the killzone trailer? At least they have a goal to exceed expectations, in and of itself thats not a bad thing. Now they have the motivation to at least try it. I'd rather have any dev saying they were attempting to do the ridiculous, push bounds no one thought they ever could, than sit there and say "yeah, we want to do something within your expectations"
actually deceased, those are both pics of RR7 on PS3, one in 720p and one in 1080p as demonstrated on another article on this site...

nambo, if I'm not mistaken, the 64 MB used is the only thing reserved while a game is in use, its not specifically for the browser, its for the operating system and is used primarily by the browser when not in a game.
TopGamer, whether with this sceenname or another, you have never once posted what you refer to as "facts" backed up by a single unbiased source, as fanboys(you included) on either side would want to put it. Every time someone that works for, or with, Sony has said something good about the PS3 you and others have jumped all over it saying its inherently biased, but then go and use Microsoft sponsored articles or interviews with Microsoft as an uniased source. Simply put this is hypoc...
Additionally, PS3 games seem to have far more onscreen at one time than 360 games as a general rule...
for everyone bring up the RSX...you know, MAYBE, just MAYBE the specs haven't changed since they were originally announced...in which case, why would they have to restate them...
madden 07 is one of the glitchiest games i've ever played, who cares about he graphics if the game play is absolutely terrible...
you have no common sense do you...its about time they silence you as best they can...
linux is inherently more secure than Windows...I've run it for quite a while now and never once been hit with spyware or viruses, where as with a Windows machine that is almost inevitable...
Anything you do on Windows you can also do on Linux...it just might take you longer to figure out how, but it can be done. I use Linux exclusively and I can even stream music to my 360...
There is no question about whether or not PS3 is about games at all, it clearly is. It has everything from a hardware perspective to support some great games, just as the 360 does. I'm not going to get into the whole debate about which architecture is more ideal for gaming as its rather pointless as no one would ever concede regardless of if they actually understood it all. As far as extra features go, yes it adds to the cost of the console, but is that really such a big deal? Why would anyon...
