Bayonetta is not American made and makes it a point to flaunt that. If that translates into "you must be a hormone raging 12 year old" to enjoy it, then you should pass. If you like fast, fun action, but are willing to deal with some shockingly nasty load times, give it shot. The action and bosses are just awesome.
Looks like I'll have to whip this one out again
I always wondered where the handheld fanboys are. For the DS to sell so well, you gotta wonder where those people are. (also I love my DS and my PSP, no hate here)
Also I read the entire thing, in response to "You'll only read the paragraph that interest you and comment this article like if you've read all of it." Mostly spot on. I have the extreme difficulty of wanting to talk about game genres (I'm a huge jrpg fan) and my comments being turned into console wars. ...
From a visual standpoint, the game still doesn't look bad on the PS3. Not nearly enough bad to warrant knocking it down from a 9.5 to an 8.2. HOWEVER, the load times might warrant that. The load times were absolutely terrible. It had to load for everything you did except fight. Collect an item? 5 seconds of loading. Go the Hell's Gate? 2 minutes of loading. It was pretty sad. I swear I spent as much time practicing in the practice world (when the game loads) as I did in game.
That's about what I get
What is your point? You're so sick of hearing about how great this game is because the version on your console is a little gimped but still fun? It's not like the PS3 doesn't have loads of better exclusive games, why is bothering you so much?
I had fun playing it on PS3 :/
I bought both of these games on PS3 (my brother's friend is borrowing my 360 until February). I played through Bayonetta once already and it was a lot of fun (though loading times...ugh). Playing through Darksiders now (it's on pause right now) and it's really great too. I highly recommend both, no matter your system preference.
@n4garbage:
"I'm pretty sure Mass Effect 2 won't be available for download on release date so prove me wrong"
According to Steam, the game will be released on Jan. 26th, right on time.
I tried to look for a website to prove it to you, unfortunately I couldn't find one. All I've got to go on is that I'm looking at Mass Effect 2's Steam page right now and it says: "Available: January 26th, 2010
This game will unlock in approximately 2...
Finally, some news I actually care about.
It sounds like it's shaping up to be quite good!
I suppose I can see it your way, but if you were to ask me, I'd tell you to go to those other articles and talk about how Halo is now crap (it is), how Rockstar makes games for dumb teenagers (they do), or how aiming with the right analog stick sucks (it does). I commented on this article because I saw something I agreed with, saw someone else saying something I didn't agree with, and put forth my opinion. I always figured that was the whole point in being able to respond to people. How bo...
Untrue, I own several of those games. Why include Super Paper Mario? Those were never SNES games. Why include Muramasa? It's styled like a PS2 game! I picked up FFIV: The After Years, and while it was similar graphically and gameplay wise, it didn't deliver! Megaman 9 is available on all systems.
I'll give you A Boy and his Blob and Punchout. The Wii is worth having for 3 games, maybe I'll dust the thing off and buy a copy of A Boy and his Blob, finish it, and let it start...
I think the biggest problem with your remarks is that you're placing us older gamers in some kind of non-existing group. I didn't start with the SNES, I started with the NES, but made my way to the SNES. You spouted some crap about liking SNES better than PS2 and vice versa and how that determines whether you like the Wii? It makes no sense! I loved both of those systems. My favorite classic games are on SNES, my favorite more modern games are on PS2. And the Wii? The Wii sucks, man. ...
This is actually wrong, pretty much every thing was wrong with The Last Remnant. It wasn't fun, the battle system was dumb and got old really fast, the towns were all small and it had way too many NPCs that you couldn't interact with at all, the story was cookie cutter, the controls rank in my top 5 worst games to control (imagine trying to control a feather in a hurricane)...but it looked pretty good. That's all it had going for it.
People really have no respect. He said outright that this list wasn't a "best of" list and instead a "favorite of" list. I'm sure he'd have been fine with people expressing what games they enjoyed as well, but "fail list" isn't just an opinion, it's baiting. Your opinion isn't any better than his, that's why it's an opinion and not a fact.
Really, the poor guy didn't deserve to have his completely innocent article posted on n4g. People here tak...
So Gamespot is "an xbox fanboy" because they gave PS3 game of the year to a different exclusive than you wanted them to? It couldn't be because the exclusive that they did give it to is actually an amazing game? I guess it must be pretty weird to you that about half the comments on this page are actually happy about this.
If I recall correctly, there were only 3 of them, and they came out like 2 years ago. This year they published Demon's Souls and 2 new good SMT games (with a new one coming out early next year). Doesn't sound too shabby to me.
Not a terrible list, and I like their number 1 choice, though I'm a bit confused why they didn't choose Atlus over XSEED/ME, or even put Atlus on the list (or NIS for that matter). Atlus offers extra stuff with their games more than any company I've ever seen. The games are (more often than not) very good. I often buy their games just because they published it (and have gotten very few disappointments).
I'm going to buy it anyway. Considering I haven't and won't play the 360 version, I doubt I'll really notice anything wrong with it. I would just get it on 360 but I'm in a bit of a trophy war with a friend
I want this bad
