There are a lot of great games coming out the current gen, but I traded in both Ps3 and Xbox360 in months ago because I can no longer bear playing essentially the same way I have been for the last 30 years. I'm hoping the dedicated and new kinect will change the way we play games. It doesn't have to be a kinect game necessarily, but if developers start doing what Capcom is doing with DR3 then I think videogames are saved for those of us that have been playing since the atari joysick...
that was my thought... those three would probably take the prize but not sure if they are releasing first year... or at all.
I don't get the infamous love. I played Infamous and Little Big Planet when Sony offered them for free when they got hacked and got bored of both in a few weeks. A;so Killzone is a b shooter compared to the xbox FPS games so I'm wondering if that will change on PS4? Unless Sony is hiding something their best games in the first year will be multiplatform like BF4, Division, Destiny. ...forgot about witcher 3 and MGS 5....
Speaking of hiding, sony will make waves if ...
good stragey to go with Xbox on the multiplayer. they have the better controller and xbox live crushes psn, but the death blow in multiplayer may be the cloud if it truly improves lag. Obviously Sony will belt out some system sellers but why not wait 2~3 years and buy the system and the games for cheap while you are playing the hot games on X1?
looks like you definitely should get PS4 then...
nothing wrong with that. I owned PS2 and PS3 and to me going from xbox dash board / xbox live to the PS dashboard / PSN is like going from PS3 to PS. In other words, Xbox has a 2 generation gap over PS in these areas and looks like PS4 will sorta catch up to Xbox360, but X1 is pushing the innovation levels ahead of 360. This is one of the major strengths of MS. Sonys strength seems to be single player exlusives and grahics. Also the ...
I haven't played the Zoo Tycoon games, but was wondering can my 6 yr and 4 yr old sons play this type of game or is it too complex? Looks cool.
You are right on. I'm a big fan of Xbox FPS because of the controller and xbox live but they need new IPs. I've been twittering MS execs about this for a while now. They can still rock Halo but they need to change it up or it will increasingly diminish as the new and exciting IPs emerge. COD is almost in same boat. Releasing every year worked for a while but now gamers have had their fill and will be gone in an instant when these new IPs release.
Actually Halo 4 technically was very impressive and the reason why I have hope that MS can still put Halo up there with the other AAA FPS. So there isn't a question if 343 can maximize X1 technology, but it remains to be seen if they can recalibrate Halo to compete with the new standard of FPS gameplay and customization.
It's true that Halo 4 makes Sony FPS exclusives look like B games but we can't compare Halo to other systems. The sad fact is Halo has lost its touch beginning with the Halo 3 on 360. And then MS oversaturated gamers with three more iterations that followed the same Halo 1~3 formula while BF and COD began their campaign to give Halo a major spanking and Gears of War took its place as the Xbox exclusive king.
Halo is already on the its last leg but MS has opportunity...
I agree...
Mario
Zelda
Bond
Starfox
Mariocart
N64 is my favorite offline system....also like:
Turok
Perfect Dark
Mario Party
Banjo Kazooie
Blast Corps
totally agree with you there... gamers need a break from COD anyway and guess what? Most of them will take a break this time even though they are releasing it. They need to do something different because all of a sudden they competing against BF, Destiny, Titanfall, The Division, Star Wars Battle Front, Halo, etc.
Hopefully, the cloud will help them with lag as well... that's the main reason why I'm giving COD a rest.
Xbox controllers are significantly better for most games... and they finally fixed its only weakness, d-pad.
did he list blue-ray? by adding blue-ray and investing in 1st party exclusives MS resolved its two biggest weaknesses.
I've owned the past two PSs as well but have only played a few of their outstanding single player exclusives (demon souls was my favorite) because Xbox out performs in every way aside from graphics... and that "every way&qu...
agreed... just adding better graphics each gen gets old... in fact it got old last gen for many of us that have been gaming since the 1 bit era. I haven't been this excited for a launch. PS has great single player exclusives, but MS pushes technology so going X1 first all the way.
Looks like majority is going for Watchdogs.
For launch I have DR3, Ryse(depending on further details), BF4 slotted ahead of Watchdogs.
For 2014 I have TitanFall, Halo, The Division, Quantum Break, D4, Destiny, Kinect Sports slotted ahead of watchdogs.
I'll probably only get to half of these games as I am married with 3 young'uns that haven't started playing yet.
My list matches yours aside from Killer Instinct which is free so you are probably referring to buying the roster of characters.
Kinect Sports got delayed to spring so we will have to wait a little longer. Thinking of adding BF4 in its place.
DR3 looks like the best game on either system. Hopefully, they will reveal a lot more of Ryse during Gamescon. T
If you want the best contoller, the best online service, the best multiplayer experiences, and innovative gameplay features then raw specs don't matter...get the X1. If you want to play the same way you have been with much better graphics and enjoy single player games then specs matter...get the PS4. I've owned both since the first xbox released - single player rpgs and the like = PS. Multiplayer, shooters, social, and the like = Xbox.
that's the sony fan boys for you... not to say xbox doesn't have its own... but I'm starting to think PS3 must give off radio active rays that diminish intelligence... Demon Souls was great... doh... I gave myself away... I too am a victim.
or not....if MS removes Kinect the X1 will lose one of the key differences that makes it superior console compared to PS4. As it stands PS4 is PS3 with better graphics while X1 is a game changer. MS is going in the right direction with changes but will lose a huge fan base and even larger casual base if Kinect is removed.
I do appreciate the free games on PS+ and that they pushed MS to do something similar, but I would MUCH rather have the robust xbox live features over the free games on PS+ any day. That's one of the reasons why I play multiplayer exclusively on xbox. The controller is the other reason. Xbox already rules in online gaming and controller and now add cloud and dedicated Kinect 2 to mix - there is no comparison. PS4 will continue to have great single player exclusives.
Dont think x1 will overpower ps4 over time but it does have a higher ceiling and may reduce the gap over time. Also out of the box it already beats ps4 at every level other than graphics which is a win in my book.
