as you point out vgc stats are incomplete, but check out the sound stats on N4G - 90% will disagree with logical comments or agree with absurd comments based on whether or not it promotes Sony over MS.
Gears became the standout exclusive on 360 especially in hindsight as Mass Effect ported to PS.
MS is taking care of business by investing more in 1st party but this will practically net them zero if they lose an exclusive franchise from EPIC.
actually this why I'm on the fence with this game. It looks great and call me crazy for not minding the combat. But, it is the absence of variety that makes me pause. If there were a variety of enemies and weapons then I would be much more interested.
Have 3 young sons so this game is actually sitting #1 for me.
KZSF looks great. But why do you think all of a sudden the KZ franchise will play great when all the other iterations before it fell well short of the other AAA FPSs available on PS3 & 360?
I hope the game plays as great as it looks but last time I checked these guys aren't in the same league as other devs when it comes to gameplay and AI.

I'm right there with you, E24G, well almost, 38, with three young sons. So have limited time playing games, but when I do, I want the best experience, I want to connect online with out of town family, and I want some new game play! Playing with the same fundamental controller input has gotten old after 30 years. Can't wait for X1 - the system is better than PS4 in every way except for graphics and surprisingly has better games out of the gate.

or even $60 + micro would have worked....this will be humorous to watch but I don't think it will make it to retail on consoles with subscription...I think they will catch in time to avoid a historical launch failure.
yup Blast Corps would rock as would all the games that everyone tends to bring up. Actually Rare is sitting on a treasure trove of IPs so it's disappointing to see them designated for Kinect based games that ignore their rich heritage. I would love to see a star fox type of game... they could put conker behind the wheel since Nintendo owns the fox.
Elder Scrolls will have to go F2P to survive on consoles. Everyone will have just paid 500~1200 on the consoles. And both consoles will have plenty of AAA exclusives and multiplats to keep them busy going forward. So I don't see many console gamers forking out $60 for the game plus another $180 / yr when all these other great options are available.

that's cool. I'll be shocked if Sony comes close to XBL as MS has been a generation ahead of PS in this area, but we'll see when they release. Controllers so subjective... I tell you these guys work so hard to make it more entertaining to back xbox. I had all three systems but have become a huge xbox fan since finding this site.
Strange article though - as we don't have any proof that the cloud will make X1 more powerful than the PS4 when it comes to graphics. If I was the author I would have kept it simple, "X1 is better than PS4 in every way except in graphical capability."
So far MS is off to a good start with the cloud with drivatars in Forza and dedicated servers in Titanfall and COD Ghost. Improving lag alone is enough for me but I expect cloud related features to increase dramatically after the first year.
For now PS4 is still more powerful. X1 has the upper hand in every other category including controller, online service, and surprisingly exclusives. However, MS will have its work cut out during 2015 when Sony's big boys start rele...

And remember that PS3 brought you great games like Little Big Planet, Infamous, and Killzone. These three games alone are ... are a lot of fun and they made other systems look just silly. And PSN just crushes Xbox live and don't let any over make fun of your sony tail.
definitely agree. If you can afford both go with X1 first and then pick up PS4 when Sony's heavy hitters start releasing in 2015... then you can grab it for 300 and some of these launch exclusives for cheap. Meanwhile, you can enjoy DR3, Ryse, BF4, Kinect Sports, COD, Watch Dogs, Spark, Titan Falls, Halo, Division, D4, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Metal Gear, etc, etc, on X1.
actually... Division looks much better than the other two. But I agree with some of these posters that MS could use that money to further enhance 1st part studios and games rather than extra content on 3rd party games. There isn't a lot of value there as far as I'm concerned unless it impact the entire game like cloud powered dedicated servers for COD Ghost for instance.
yes COD definitely took Halo's place a king of the FPS, but don't claim that "even the biggest Halo's didn't come close to beating COD." Halo 1, 2 were definitely in the same class or better even as any COD. Halo 3 was close too. You need to remember that these games were revolutionary and head and shoulders better than any FPS when they released. Otherwise, side by side comparision Halo 4 vs Black OPs 2, yes, COD wins easily because Halo has not combat evolved.....
Thanks for helping me flesh that out....you are right. Gears gave them a huge boost at the right time and I think they could use a similar system seller right now. As you put it other francises took over in the later stages but even with that - if you take the entire gears franchise out of the 360 experience it leaves a huge hole. MS needs to fill and then some as it ended being light on true exclusives. Exclusives and their dpad were their only weaknesses...and it looks like they are ta...
