I agree with you to a degree, it would be nice if they took chances, dropped the budget and concentrated on making an excellent film instead of a block-buster-mass-market-cash- machine.
The story in Gears of War is terrific -- did you play the game? Sure there were un-finished plot points, but they helped provide depth for the characters.
As long as Uwe fcuking Bol isnt involved, I have high hopes. Gears of War would make an excellent character-centered Man vs. Man SciFi film.

What are you talking about? Did you buy GTAIII: Vice City or GTAIII: San Andreas?
Did you buy one or more of the following three:
A) GTAIII.
B) GTAIII: Vice City
C) GTAIII: San Andreas
If you did, you bought an Expansion.
Further, just so you know, GTA _fans_ would have bought them all. I personally did. Many people I know have more than one.
