Here are my guesses:
1) Co-Op multiplayer.
2) "Play as the Bad-Guy" ala the Zombies in Left-4-Dead.
3) Continuous game-world, not a MMORPG per-se, but users adventure in a co-ordinated game world.
What "real issue"? Their is NOTHING wrong with the service.

This is a nonsense article. There are two things at issue here:
1) Is the service running, without problem at present? Yes. And, you can goto the Status page to see this.
and
2) What were the issues around the holiday? They've already told us some information, but BECAUSE of the LAWSUIT, they wont tell us more.. im cool with that, its in the past.

What MS needs to do (IMHO) is bring their MSN Games and (if they buy Yahoo) Yahoo Games into the LIVE fold.
Get their games playable on Xbox 360 in the LIVING ROOM instead of just on the PC.
There must be 50-100 Million Casual Gamers between those two gaming sites..
The Wii can't run Bionic Commando.

Yeah, it got great reviews and was a terrific game. No, it didnt sell that well, its a niche genre after all.
But, Famitsu loved it (something like 37/40?) but, western reviewers seemed to dislike the anime-style - i personally loved it.

Ive got my pre-order in, I loved (and played through twice, 2nd time on the "hard" setting from the Free DLC update) Sakaguchi's Blue Dragon.
Clearly, Sakaguchi is a master. And, he's got the best people working with him. I cant wait.
