I think you're right. I dont think MS will, upon release of Xbox 720, stop producing or suppling content to Xbox 360. I cant see PS4 not coming to match either.
If MS releases a Xbox 720, and Sony doesnt match them, then *all* the first-adopter hard-core players will goto MS. Then, the Xbox 360 & PS3 can split what is left for underfunded and/or more casual players.
Sony cant afford to *not* match MS. If there is anything we can all agree on, is that tech...
I agree with you. Im sure we'll see PS4 & Xbox 720 in regular time. Though, its pretty safe to say that box ps3 & Xbox 360 will continue to be useful.
In the case of Xbox 360, its still great for Windows Media Center and other entertainment-center purposes. As will the PS3 (save WMC).
Really? When you played Poker Smash on your Xbox 360, what didnt you like?
I believe you're correct. $50M is sure to be more than exclusive DLC.
$50M could have financed a good portion of the whole game, not just DLC.
I'd wager that a good portion of that went to co-marketing and exclusive cooperative advertising.
Listen, if MS says "we are getting the only exclusive content" dont you think they know what they are talking about?
Your being silly. There is no exclusive PS3 content. Don't you think MS might have closed that loop-hole up in their contract with R*? Or, do you think MS's lawyers just totally left that door open...?
This website has been full of people saying "oh, i heard PS3 is getting exclusive GTAIV content" -- but there has only ever b...
I can understand you expecting good things from FF (even though Sakaguchi-san is gone reduces the probability) and MGS -- but please, for the sake of realistic expectations, drop KZ2 from your list.
KZ1 was mediocre, and its the only game that team's ever done.
KZ2 has a very high probability of being a less than worthwhile title. Why dont you wait until someone has actually played the game before you promise a stellar hit ok?
But its not the same game. The Xbox 360 gets the Ultimate Experience GTAIV.
The PS3 will not get exclusive DLC.
So, they arent really the same are they.
If you start a new game, and ignore everything except the goal of getting your ship (like, dont run around the space station and begin a bunch of quests) you could be on the ship in probably 30minutes...
Do you have your ship yet? Let us know how long it took you...
The Xbox 360 was not outsold by the PS3 in 2007.
Can you care to provide a reliable source of this information?
Its free to enter Home, but it is going to have toll-booths. It is being marketed to Sony's partners as a revenue-generating system, not just something for "free".
Dont be unrealistic. Sony's looking to Home to fund PSN through microtransactions. Do you really want to spend your time in a 3D Second-Life clone where the system is always trying to sell you Virtual TShirts of your favorite game?
Not me.
That analysis seems pretty clear to me. People are vastly over-rating what Home is going to be. There have been 3D worlds *just like it* on the PC for 5-10 years. And, in the end, they are just a waste of time.
Bring it on. I love a game that is worthwhile spending time to learn and get good at.
This just gets better and better. Im becoming a bigger and bigger fan of the art direction. Im glad they've gone to this kind of cartoon-quality game-world.
Just stunning, this is going to be a massive game. I cant wait to play it.
Correction: Sony's PS3 design delayed Turok.
He just told you that.
Have you played it?
Saying "optimized for PS3" is a bit off-base.
What it means is that Sony made the PS3 a poor design. Sure, you can get games to perform almost as well as they do on Xbox 360, but you have to "optimize" them to do so -- meaning, you have to take money and time and burn it up basically achieving nothing. You have to spend money to achieve nothing that translates into a better game.
It isnt just EPIC who have encountered these problems...
Great, so Xbox 360 owners are getting gimped games because they are only going to push the PS3 hard enough that doesnt require too much over-the-top performance optimization.
Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 has been designed to enable Developers to create and express themselves without worrying about fighting the machine to eek out performance.
What I think will happen is the budgets are going to start dropping PS3 games all together. Becaues unless the game isnt design...
This forum is filled with children who think shareholders have an irrational dislike for MS. They are holding on to child-like notion that they are staging a rebellion against MS.
Boardrooms of institutional shareholders of YHOO are *more* than happy to see YHOO get saved from its downward spiral by MSFT.
Im sure you are correct, but this is certainly not the forum for reasonable dicussion on matters of import.
Really, that sounds like sour grapes. MS released a good product, and supported it -- at a loss -- for the industry-standard useful life.
This gen, the PS2 is proving to have legs for the first time. If Sony ends up with a userbase of 25M consoles and Xbox 360 has 100M, I can promise you that Sony is going to drop the PS3 like a brick.
I had a PS2 last gen, and not a Xbox. I am quite confident that the library and long-term viability of the Xbox 360 will exten...
