@LOGICWINS In terms of the hardware it contains it is obvious that it will be expensive, it's not a bargain as such but it is definitely well priced for the base console.
I will be buying a Vita on the 22nd when it releases.
I started saving up when it was announced and i have enough money to buy it and a few games now.
The writer mentions the cost of the Vita's components in this article and says they sell it for more to make a profit but the actual price of a Vita is more than that. The reason behind that is because that's the cost of the components, then you've got to factor in R&D, Manufacturing, Shipping, Advertising etc. ...
If you read the article you will understand why that picture is used.
I was referring to the PSN pricing of full games on the EU store. They priced inFamous 2 at £49.99 or something like that when it was £20 from any retail store.
This is good, instead of charging RRP for retail PS3 games that can be found for half the price at a retail store on PSN they're doing the opposite which is a step in the right direction.

I think he means when you're in a game. You can't hop out of the game, check the browser for something and then jump back into the game.
You have to close down the game before you can open the browser.
@telekeneticmantis There is still a browser but it does suck yes, until Sony fix it with FW updates there isn't much point using it.

I have never seen a console launch where the prices are as varied OR as fair as the ones for the Vita, say what you will but this is my belief.

OR. You could get a 16GB memory card as the 32's aren't officially supported in the UK and download a few games at a time. You don't need them all at once.
The difference is due to the extra languages, although theoretically there should be enough space left on the Game cart for DLC etc.
It could be Re-enabled for MP, it's only disabled to conserve battery life. But when it's needed it can be turned back on again.
Why would they need 4G?
3G can get about 7mb/s DL on a stable connection which is more than enough for gaming.
I can't remember which interview it was but i watched an interview where they said that Multiplayer would be possible over 3G in the future but for now it's for the social aspect of games like Leaderboards etc.
@blaaah The Vita was never going to sell as well as the 3DS because 1. it cost a lot more and 2. it's being relased at Christmas when people don't have money to spare.
This article is very misleading, it compares a dedicated gaming handheld to a tablet for a start.
First of all people need to realize that power just isn't everything for gaming, there is something called optimization that can factor greatly in to the output of a device. The Vita will have a lot of games that are optimized to work on it because it is the same hardware for every console so developers can focus on optimizing for that hardware.

This article is a bit mis-leading, it says that someone is working on giving BF3 a complete graphics overhaul when in reality he made concept art of it in a proposition to Dice to create it.
However the UI itself looks brilliant, i wouldn't mind using that myself.

Yet the PSP only allowed one account so it doesn't really change anything....
And the 3DS only allows one account also.
That's ~13% from a drop though. The stocks were ~18 on Wednesday, they dropped to ~17 yesterday and are now up to ~19. So the 13% is a bit over-exaggerated :)
