I agree with lunatic0001. I can understand the different art style in MvC: Infinite, but not in the new RE CG movie--which Capcom says is canon. So if that CG movie is canon, and RE7 IS canon as well, why have two version of Chris?
I am so pumped for devs attracted by these numbers. More PS4s out in the wild, more brand confidence among devs = more games for us console gamers! So yeah, that pretty much sums up why sales matter.
These new releases with truly enticing reviews are such games that prevent me from purchasing Dark Souls 3. I had to skip DS3 a year ago because of mainly PS exclusives. Now that DS3: The Fire Fades edition has been released, I should have no reason not to buy it. Oh, but yet another PS4 console exclusive--Edith Finch--just had to ruin my plan, once again, for me!
I'm so glad Japanese games are now on the radar again. Nioh, Nier: Automata, Persona 5 and Tales of Berseria, to name a few, have truly recaptured that Japanese gaming magic, while keeping up with the times. I don't want to sound negative, but I believe partly to blame was the last generation's CoD success mindset that plagued game devs. I'm glad that's over!
So the art style is Anime. Cool! I want to see it in action to really pique my interest. Right now, the screenshots depict a chaotic world, with a dominant color of red. I'm not a fan of such, but maybe a gameplay trailer will make me a believer.
I don't see Scorpio eating up a large chunk of the market with PS4 lacking BC, when the Xbox One currently has BC and Sony triumphs over MS almost every month.
I just wish the Scorpio were a next-gen console, so people, including me, can truly be excited for it. This is not the case, however, since it's just MS's response to Sony's PS4 Pro. Now if MS announces sometime after Scorpio's release that games in 2019 and onwards will be Scorpio exclusive, then they can have a game changer--many Xbox One owners will surely be pissed if they do that though.
Great job Atlus! I am some 30 hours into the game, and I am enthralled by P5's overall presentation. One minor thing I wish added in the game is the varying design and/or color of the main protagonist's mask. I wish it changes based on the representative color of the Persona you currently have active.
I hope it's something along the lines of my expectations--it being a third person horror title, ala Fatal Frame, I mean. But Nippon Ichi usually makes cute JRPGs, which, for me, are a little too niche and chibi-fied. We'll know soon enough though.
I want to see an MS exclusive that I can consider a must-play outside Halo and Forza: Horizon. Personally, this game is more of a free-to-play that's pretty niche. I want MS to offer something that would rival The Last of Us in terms of tone. Right now, I see SoD2 as a DayZ clone with a bit of a Left 4 Dead feel.
Fair enough, but in its current state, the MS console should be more aware of what it should have moving forward--more quality, exclusive IPs.
I totally agree. Power is good, but it shouldn't be anyone console's only draw. Also, power is too variable, while excellent exclusives leave a lasting mark to gamers.
This game surpasses my every expectation of a current-gen JRPG. Every element comes together perfectly, making the entire experience very fun and cohesive--and I'm only 5 hours into the game!!! This Persona, however, touches on mature themes, so I'd dive into the game with that in mind.
Sony is doubling down on free games for PS+ in Asia because of China. Recently, the PS brand just went all out in China, hence the storm of games being given away for free.
I'm positive the Switch will sell well; it will be a new success story for Nintendo. However, I suggest Ninty doesn't discontinue their handheld platform thinking the Switch will replace it. Many parents might not buy their kids a Switch for its asking price. Remember, the 3DS is 1/3 of the Switch's price. I'm guessing these parents would think twice or even thrice before buying (each of) their kids a Switch.
I wish Square Enix revives this franchise. They could go the Dead Space route with more powers. I enjoyed PE2, though many people disliked it.
Great job Atlus, and good on you Sony for yet another critically acclaimed exclusive! Square Enix devs need to step up their game and not allow another incohesive story to graze the next FF game (outside FF7 Remake). I only got to play P3, but the way its story was presented was meaty and focused--none of that "We told FF15's story through Noctis' eyes, that's why the confusing story and character plot holes." kind of excuse. Can't wait for P5!
April 4 is right around the corner. 2017 is truly a blessed year in gaming (Thank God!).
I am also excited for AoT: Season 2 premiering on 1st April! Wow!
Wonderful reviews so far. I am still hoping and praying that my preordered standard copy comes with that sweet DS4 decal.
On a side note: Now that Atlus is done with the primary colors (Blue for P3, Yellow for P4, Red for P5), I wonder what theme color will P6 represent. Any guesses guys?
If the cancellation of Scalebound revolved around technical problems concerning online functionality (coop/PvP), I wish MS just let Platinum Games drop it completely so they could deliver a solid ARPG of a game in SB. I am saying this after seeing this.
