Cause gaming media isn't really media journalism. It only hit the fan because it was so widespread.
Notice how before this year it wasn't like gaming media did anything at all to address serious issues in the gaming industry.
Did you read that Kotaku article about Foxconn? Dude, there is no "helping feed their younger siblings"
They were threatened to work at Foxconn or have their education revoked: no diploma, no grades, no nothing.
Some of them were forced to work 34 hours shifts straight. That's nearly two whole days of straight work man.
These kids were only 14. They are pretty much forced labor camps.
EDIT: Here's the link ...
A free-form class build would be really cool, too.
With the added customization features, it would be nice to see something like this become available in BL3.
LOL...
Especially if you caused the sticky situation.
Maybe consumers can get the companies to stop using Foxconn? I'm sure there are other cheap alternatives around the world other than Foxconn.
Game looks legit.
I played it a bit, it's really fun and kind of harrowing. Glad it's getting some coverage.
@annus
Easier as in: Animations, physics, models, textures, terrain can all be done from one source. And by this, I'm talking personal experience. UDK is waaaaaaaaaaay easier to use than stuff like Visual C++ and Lightwave, which was common tools back in the late 90s and early 00s.
All that stuff you talk about needing separate people and time for is how things were done during the PSX and PS2 era. With stuff like Unity and UDK and CryEngine SDK all that...
That's because if your store is online only and this kind of crap gets out on reddit, N4G, Youtube or whatever, you're royally screwed!
Online companies can't afford it as much as brick and mortars because with brick and mortars they can be pricks to you online but still put on a smile for you when you walk into the store.
I don't know if you've seen the gameplay for WarZ but here it is here:
http://www.youtube.com/watc...
I mean, the inventory is better and all but it doesn't feel as dangerous as DayZ, which is my biggest gripe.
But I guess if you wanted a faster, more action packed version of DayZ then yeah you get that in WarZ.
Also, the crops thing is from that ot...
Yeah they're adding town fortification and social structures to DayZ standalone, I don't know about the mod in its current state...haven't kept up with it for a while.
The WarZ could have been all right but man, it's like they stole all the good stuff from DayZ and then pooped all over it. It also plays like an arcade game and I'm not really down with that. The horror-survival feel of DayZ was tense.
Barely good enough to play it. You'll have to turn a lot of features off.
And no, DayZ standalone won't be free to play but it'll have a small entry price like $10 or so. Dean Rocket Hall says they want the entry really low so any and everyone can play.
They weren't always evil, though.
I loved them during the Genesis era and they had some half-way decent games during the PS2 era.
It freaking spies on you man! I kid you not, google up "Origin spyware"....
Don't be surprised if they lump that crap onto your Wii after making an account. You can't trust EA and if you do then I don't feel sorry for you!
Nope.
My Xbox Live account was completely separate from my Steam account and the only time they cross/share is when Microsoft forces me to use GFWL.
Not true.
This doesn't at all look at the middleware tool factors.
Did you know it's easier to create games now than it has been for the past 40 years?
It used to take years to develop games using machine code and they looked like crap. Remember that? And those crappy things could sometimes cost upward of $1 million.
Game development costs are rising yes, but not always in the areas you think.
Unrea...
Ahahaha...they should have waited for the standalone and then did a review. But the mod has come a long ways.
Sounds like a game sent out to die behind a shed.
...and yet the kids and crazy people don't like to play anything but blockbuster games? Hmm, good to know.
Admit it, you would have been in that line too if you had been there.
I bought the first game and its DLC twice over because I was so excited for Borderlands. I ended up getting the GOTY for the "complete experience".
Never again....never again...
