Wouldn't the PS4 mess with the launch of stuff like The Last of Us? Why would you buy a PS4 when the PS3 still has buy-worthy exclusives?

Plus Ubisoft needs to make Uplay not suck.

It's cumbersome and DRM'y.

And WTF is up with Origin and their prices? I'd rather buy a physical copy of a game from GameStop that I OWN or can trade-in as opposed to paying full price for a digital copy on PC.

Of course they can't pull it...the only people they've sold it to are the SEALs, so no sensitive information has been leaked anyways.

When I read comments like this it lets me know you didn't really play the game.

GTA 4 had some of the craziest car chases out of the entire series and the best car physics out of the entire series (so far). The bullet physics and car damaged meant that you could have some insane car chases and if you did it right you could could out the tires of cops and watch their cars flip over from the momentum. You couldn't do that in GTA: SA.

Also, being able t...

Well said.

I, too, didn't like SR3. It was terrible because of how much content they removed and how aimless the whole game was (What was your character really trying to do? You already owned Stilport and **spoiler** killed the main bad guy halfway through the game).

GTA IV was a lot better than people make it out to be, and I still play EEFLC to this very day. So haters gonna hate, but I hope Rockstar can just deliver what they've already revealed. ...

LOL this post is so true.

Looking at Minecraft it's obvious that a well crafted game beats any and all "forecasts" by so-called industry analysts and publishing executives.

Those top-tier guys don't play games, they don't know video games, they don't know game culture, they have NO idea what makes a game fun. Using metrics, focus group testing and marketing data is not how you determine how to make a fun game that will have a long t...

You couldn't even bang chicks in RDR with John like you could with Luis in GTA IV, so I don't know what RivetCityGhoul is talking about.

This right here.

Instead of taking note about making "good quality games" pubs will see this as "Uh, Red Dead made a lot of money?! let's throw $20 million at a generic clone and it'll make money too!!!"

For now they've yet to clone Rockstar games this gen like they did during the PS2 era (although the GTA clones in the PS2 era were hardcore, cool and some of them were almost better than GTA) but this gen pubs are chasing COD&#...

@raWfodog

they probably still have their job, handing out horrible advice, like "Mobile phones will kill console games", which is why big pubs keep making stupid comments about us core gamers giving up our beloved consoles/PCs to play on some shoddy tablet device.

They didn't mention anything about stat growth, just that you won't be able to physically change or did they mention somewhere that there won't be stat growth?

They mentioned you can't change physically for obvious technical reasons but they didn't mention anything about not being able to build a character in other ways.

From the sound of it, though, there will still be RPG-like features given that there are triathlons, workout and yoga m...

Did you see why they had to remove the SA customization?

It's because of the physics and animation system for the characters.

You could still have SA style character customization but they've had to remove the procedural animation system and remove a lot of character physics as well. That's a lot of steps back just so people can get skinny or fat.

Bubbles up. That's right, and I hate how people always say gaming is dying because people are tired of crap and decide not to waste money on crap.

They expect gamers to just keep throwing $60 at crap all the time? LOL, I don't think so.

Also, like you mentioned, digital sales is playing a big part in the purchases of many gamers, especially on PC.

Same here.

I've learned that even for games I can't wait to play, I have to force patience onto my thumbs and just wait it out because day-one releases really are not the definitive games. They aren't even complete.

I feel bad for all those saps who got SFxT on day-one and then had to pay out their arse to unlock content already on the disc. We all know Capcom will make an ultimate GOTY edition next year that includes all the disc-locked content ...

You couldn't buy property in GTA IV but there were still a lot of buildings you could enter and "safe houses" you could unlock, so I imagine they'll have similar features in GTA V.

I'm just curious how they're gonna fit this on the Xbox 360?

Different disc for each character campaign? Areas are broken down by disc? Multiplayer on a separate disc? Really curious about this.

Well written, well argued. I agree.

I don't even bother reading reviews from big sites anymore. I see the arbitrary "7 - 10" ratings and skip over them entirely. I just don't feel like subjecting myself to their shill-tastic bullcrap anymore.
