I agree.

I play on PC to play PC games and do multimedia stuff.

If my console is trying to do all the stuff my PC does then what's the point of the console? Games certainly don't look better than my PC nor can it do all the other work related stuff. So yeah, consoles need to stick to being consoles.

Now back in the PSX and PS2 era consoles knew their role in the home. They stayed in the living room and did their tasks the way they wer...

Might be? It is.

It captures all the social commentary in a thriller (albeit buggy) experience. This is now the new standard of what a survival-zombie game should be.

It boggles my mind how modders could figure this out but AAA pubs still don't have a clue.

This really is an amazing game. Procedural design has got to be the future of game designing...it's so cool.

Ugh, more shill articles. Advertorial much?

Any louse who spends five minutes reading about all the anti-consumerist junk EA pulls would know that it's not "EA hate" or that it's just a "cool thing to do".

There are plenty of websites out there (obviously not this Stevivor place) that offers reasons backed up by facts on why EA is as bad as they are. Jim Sterling (of all people) did a pretty good rundown of what makes them so bad. <...

Why would they even mention graphics? Most games have blurry textures and piss poor LOD/DOF to accommodate for draw distances these days and always trying to make up for the 512MB of the home consoles.

We're at a point where GTA V should have been next-gen. I expect on consoles it'll probably look like GTA IV, maybe a little worse if they want to have more than two of the same cars on-screen at the same time.

In fact, it'll be a miracle if they ...

Avalanche said they weren't doing another Just Cause until next gen consoles arrive.

I think that's a good way to go considering that there isn't much they can do with JC on current-gen consoles without sacrificing graphics in a huge way.

Plus, I'd rather play a game where the locations feel inspired and thriving with life. JC2 was cool but to accommodate the large island(s) there were barely any AI around most of the time and it felt like a...

saoco is right.

Namco Bandai isn't dying like Square and they produce a lot of titles.

The difference is that Square squandered opportunities milking poor spinoffs of Final Fantasy XIII and dumping tons of cash into Final Fantasy XIV. That has nothing to do with making games on current gen hardware, which has dropped drastically given that the tech is now almost a decade old.

The whole "too costly" excuse now looks pathetic giv...

"They are comparing a PC game to a Xbox 360 game, graphical comparisons are completely moot."

Not really, the comparison stands because they're saying that the games look similar, not how they look on each respective console.

It's not going to cost more to upscale/downscale the resolution, modders do this all the time in a matter of minutes.

The comparison is in the games themselves and how they were designed, that Crash Tim...

@MNGamer-N

Except not all games are enjoyable.

A lot of the Wii titles failed, and a few were truly exceptional (i.e,. The Last Story, Monster Hunter, SMG, etc,. etc.)

But let's be real about this, core gamers are concerned about library extension and the expanse of the games based on the hardware capabilities of the Wii U.

If the hardware isn't adequate the games won't be as big as they could be. If the support ...

Man the Nintyboys took a real disliking to your logic for some reason.

I agree with you. For $350 it really has to prove it's next-gen. I don't want to invest that kind of money into a machine that provides gaming experiences equivalent to a Wii 1.5

Oh snap, they've added the sort of stuff that actually makes me want to play the game. Totally worth checking out now.

That's interesting. Your comment is the first to suggest this game would be better suited for next-gen hardware...

is it one those things where it feels gimped or something? Like graphically it could have been better or it's not as smooth or as expansive or the AI isn't up to par? I'm just curious what warrants the next-gen? Or is it just the overall presentation?

(I also ask because some games obviously needs better hardware like The Witcher ...

Actually costs aren't expected to skyrocket:
http://n4g.com/news/1112429...

And that video basically brings up the common sense question: Graphically the two games weren't worlds apart but budget wise both games are worlds apart. So I'm guessing the money went into licensing, engineering...and more licensing for Forza?...

I hate the idea that you have to live life a certain way.

I especially hate the idea that we have to buy products a certain way.

I'm not ashamed to say that I no longer get games on day-one (I used to, but not anymore) the biggest problem is that all the DLC, pre-order bonuses and patch-requiring glitches have completely ruined the day-one illusion. It used to mean buying a top-end product for top-dollar to say you're first and you enjoy what the ga...

If Kojima has any dignity he will not put something as amazing as Ground Zeroes on current-gen consoles.

I want to see what they can do with their tech, I'd hate to see it gimped to accommodate today's consoles. A launch title for PS4/Xbox 720 would be cool. Otherwise they're gonna have to make a ton of concessions to get the game to run on 8 year old tech.
