After over three years of been in closed/open beta, he whole game got reworked just couple months before the release because they were running out of time and money for the development, so they went with easiest cookie-cutter model of theme-park mmorpg, while abandoning their original vision that Red5 advertised when game was first announced and which beta testing been testing and playing for over three years.

Would it make much sense? Not really, but a lot of things in Battlefield games don't make sense, so if they would add snowboards they might as well keep up with variety and add skies too, then maybe even jetpacks, go out with a bang with the last DLC haha
It doesn't matter, and Valve/Gabe repeatedly stated that before, they simply gonna keep updating Source, until they might say, well its different enough to call it Source 2, or maybe they just not gonna call it that even if its too different. At the end of they day it doesn't matter, they have engine that is better than other versions before it, and which will continuously keep improving, so why would anyone give a fk is beyond me.
Considering those are completely different games, I don't think it will hurt Battlefield as bad as you think. People who like to play Battlefield with large amount of players, vehicles on large maps with distraction will not stick with boring ass Destiny for very long.

Also articles using Steam data pop up here and on other sites pretty frequently ,and as you pointed their data is very inaccurate due to many factors that they don't include, or exclude out of their stats.
I know exactly how resolution works. What I was saying is that if people playing modern 2D games, they most likely running them in resolution higher then 1080p if its supported by the game.

If I want to play Unreal/Quake, I just go play Unreal/Quake.
Also I never had problem with reloading, as it adds just enough depth to the game where you have to make simple choices when to shoot, what weapon to use, also it promotes people to use good movement and character positioning due to bean defenseless while reloading. Definitely not a bullshit mechanics, or mechanics that only belongs in "realistic" shooters.
Never really was excited for this game, but this is good news. Even though I always thought they will release it on PC anyways.
I freaking loved playing LAN games with like 6 or 8 of my friends and bunch of bots in BF1942, best gaming times of my life for sure.
I was about to say, there are still people who believe it was not pure scam? Granted they tried really hard making Kickstarter look believable, but if you pay little bit more attention than just glance at it, you can easily tell they are full of crap.
