They blurred the lines which they shouldn't have touched, and they can't do anything in aspects where PC always been above consoles, which is Visuals, Precision, Immersion.
I liked consoles because they had their own nitch for casual gaming. Today they barely hold on to it, they pretty much became crappy computers that you hook up to your tv and pay money to play with your friends online (at least in xbox case)
I remember days when consoles were awesome because you can just hook it up to your tv, throw in game disk and play with four of your friends in the same room.
Today, you pretty much have to install the game first, then have to update and patch it, and 90% of the game don't support split screen.
The moral of the story is, get a kick ass PC and play games the way they were meant to be played.
Of course, hardcore titles are still around, its just not as many of them, and even the few that are left are questionable in quality.
And dumbing down game does bring publisher more sales. More casual people pick their game, the more money company makes, that is true 90% of the time. Can hardcore/difficult games make good sales? Low standards lead to casual crowd. Even though every old time gamer, that saw the rise of video game industry, probably hates majority of modern dumb down titles, we are still outnumbered by all the young kids who grew up on modern junk games, those kids simply don't know anything else, they have nothing to compare their experience to, so they are okay with that, and there are so many more of them than old timers, hence why they are the "target audience", easy cash sheep.

Bethesda is simply not capable of making a quality game that can be successful mmo. No way. If they make something, it will fail miserably because of bugs and many other technical issues.
If they would be smart, they would just make next Fallout and experiment with co-op or multiplayer, maybe take it from there. Otherwise, good luck trying to play whatever mess that mmo is gonna turn out to be.
I got Fallout New Vegas with all its expansion packs fking years after release, and I still can hardly play that broken junk. I have friends who love the game, but even they say that sometime its unbearable because of technical problems, I can only imagine what it was like on the release date. If they would took time and made polished product, then I bet not only more people would have liked it, but it obviously would have gotten better score.

Are you kidding? BC2 shipped with no maps, and we had to wait to unlock decent maps so we can actually enjoy the game, when they always been there from the beginning? It was bullshit.
Entire on disk DLC is bullshit. Developers want more money, they take chunk from the game and sell it to you later for more money than its worth, they make profit, and the player have false sense of game been supported after the release.
Just give me full game so I can enjoy ent...
