@Septic
I know what you mean about Thuway, the predictions often fall into generalities. This one for example, it's very subjective.
To me, if a prediction can't be proven or disproven by unfolding events, then it's not a prediction, and that's what we've seen a lot of lately from a lot of "sources" him included.
I think what it needs is optional use of the left stick for navigating the phone interface, they should patch that in ASAP. Not having it, makes no sense, and adds a feeling of strange and unnecessary awkwardness, for me anyway.
Yeah, the value is so insane that when I meet people who don't appreciate it, I actually question their intelligence/values. LOL
This line up is so good. Two titles I'd been waiting for sales on. Mutant Mudds and Trine 2. Pixel Junk looks good too. Platinumed Sly when it launched but I regret nothing, was awesome.
Yes there is more going on in Watch Dogs, but there's something else there too. Watch Dogs, while fun and quite good looking, has this dated look to it. Infamous has this really polished "everything fits together seamlessly" look to it. Watch Dogs is this collection of really good looking parts that fit together somehow more awkwardly. I suspect once this cross gen stuff stuff passes, Ubi games will be looking amazing.
Seems such a trend these days.
You even see a lot worse, like people flooding Metacritic user reviews with horrible scores on a game that literally just came out. I know some people get early copies, but what a coincidence if all those people thought the game was a 1/10.
I just don't get how you can have a grudge against a game you haven't played yet.
Game reviews confuse me. The "art" of the review seems to have "evolved" past evaluation and into the arm-chair-game-designer's realm. We see more reviews discussing what a game isn't rather than what it is.
I do believe in the right to an opinion, but it's just all kind of jumped the shark.
I'm really confused by the aggressive tone so many are taking to this game.
Lots of people pre-order big titles they expect to be good.
As it turns out, Metacritic is sitting at around 81 right now. That is quite good.
Yet, it's getting hammered in the comments and in "user reviews" by people who, in many cases, haven't even played it.
Not singling you out, per se, but just confused why people seem to wa...
People are entitled to their opinions but this is clearly clickbait. The end.
It's so funny Lukas, when desperate people try to discredit the media based on the misreporting of the COD Ghosts resolution, what they all forget is that most if not all outlets were staying stuff like "the resolution is different, but I have trouble seeing it."
There is such a strange tone to some of this fanboy conspiracy stuff. Very Fox News-ish.
@Neonridr
He knows. You're talking about the same effect. That is what is so clever about it. They have mapped the illusion of interiors onto a layer of the reflections. This way, you perceive 3d indoor spaces (expensive, resource-wise) but in fact they are only using clever 2d imagery (cheap resource-wise).
Exactly what I was thinking. Why is everything considered controversial these days? Because bored whiners complain about, literally, everything? It's just insane.
Yes... This subject is is so absurd.
Some people act as though everyone who buys a platform owned it's predecessor and in fact, every title on it's predecessor.
Says you, meanwhile I have a pile of 17 Terabyte hard drives rotting in the corner. ;)
I agree. I'd be surprised if a true AAA mindblowing exclusive deal was made at all, for either console. That model has been dying a slow death for years. It's a bad way to build a mega-franchise and that's what all publishers want now.
@Ginesis that's all the more reason to avoid exclusives period. Neither console has an install base to support the astronomical sales publishers want now. Even combined it's an issue, I'm sure. I bet some publishers are sit...
There are so few "true leaks." Leaks are a great way to build hype and test the waters.
I yawn when I see angry quotes about them.
As for unintentional leaks, when you have so many people involved in producing something, it will happen, what's the point of fighting that obvious fact?
It basically does break every game it's in, for me. There are some exceptions I've been able to ignore, but still, not entirely.
There is always a nagging feeling at the back of my mind that the thing I'm playing is no longer a game, but now a fool's pursuit. One designed to frustrate, rather than intrigue. One designed to waste time, rather than spend it. All this happening with the goal of steering me to spend more money on a game I already bought.
Especially when resolution is any part of the comparison.
Yeah, seems clear now, if it wasn't already...
The sad story here is that, while much of the talent fled and bled out long ago...THIS is what the great Rare has become? This studio has been twisted beyond recognition. Such a shame.
There are often long gaps..that said, it has been about 4 years since RDR and there have been other clues it might be in the works the past few years.
Personally RDR is one of my favourite games of all time, so this would be MAJOR for me.
@Razmossis
Mastery of Cell was one of the ways they executed so well, but their engine tech prowess is, in general, extremely good.
All sources are claiming their new work will change perceptions of what is possible, I believe it.
The technical team just keeps getting stronger, combine this with the massive amount of power now available and you can expect fireworks.
