Of course lawyers would say they might have a case...lawyers get paid win, lose or draw.
Yes I have played SOE MMO's. Been playing them since the summer of 1999 when EverQuest first launched. You have your facts wrong btw SOE did not pick up Star Wars Galaxies they created it. You also don't realize that creative control of SWG was in Lucas Arts hands not SOE as they owned the license to the franchise and had final say on everything.
That said eveyone should approach every new MMO with good amount of sceptism. What sounds good on paper often does not translate ...
Star Wars Galaxies was a mess from the start and a big part of that had to do with Lucas Arts since they hold the license to the Star Wars franchise and they had final approval on everything concerning the game.
EQ until WoW came along was considered the most successful MMO in history and it encouraged many companies to try thier hand and none of them could dethrone EQ until WoW came along.
EQ2 is a very good game. I have yet to play any MMO that did everything ...
No he is saying they have the goal of Free Realms being bigger then what WoW has for subscribers.
There are no subscribers since its free to play. Did you even read the article?
LOL..Star Wars Galaxies was created by SOE, same thing with EverQuest. Funny SOE saved Vanguard as it would have gone under had they not stepped in and bought the company.
Just to be clear your original argument was SOE does not sell enough games to substain thier company and have to charge a subscription. Again as I pointed out Blizzard has sold more copies of WoW then any MMO in histroy by a long shot and they still charge a subscription fee so that totally destroys your original argument.
As to Vanguard, Sigil Games tried to make a go on thier own producing a MMO. MS bailed on the company as they where originally thier publishing company. SO...
Wow how dumb can you be. MMO's have always made money via subscription. Even Blizzard with 8 million subscribers. It has nothing to do with the number of games sold. It has to do with maintaining servers, band width, GM's, development team to continue to fix bug and provide additional free content for those playing the game. Hell even your beloved MS charges a subscription fee for playing games online with XBL. Or don't they sell enough games to provide that service for free? LMFAO!
yeah like extortion.
The games industry is just a victim of politically correct lobby groups.
Yup thats what I have always said. The cheap part is buying the console the expensive part is paying for all those games.
If the past always equaled the future then your post might be relevant.
Why its listed as rumor and only affects PS3 owners. As a PS3 owner its nice to have an idea what is coming down the road. This gives me a good idea of whats coming and yes it even states its a work in progress and that all games listed my not make it to release etc. I really don't see why people can't just take this list for what it is. Seems the most upset are the 360 fans. I could give a rats a$$ if there is some big long list posted about upcoming 360 games that may or may not be tru...
Yea I really believe you have a PS3. And if you really did buy one and your not happy then you only have yourself to blame since its obvious you had no clue what you where buying. You had to know the amount of games that where currently available to purchase and when more where coming out right?
Sony Online Mercenary / Spy MMO [Untitled] = The Agency
Monster Kingdom = Folklore
Heavy Rain is not a PS3 exclusive.
Be interesting to see the results they get using this approach. I would think it has paid off splendedly for them and I look forward to seeing the results at E3.
Must be a slow news day for GameDaily to make predictions on what games will get for review scores in the future. If this was on paper I would stick it under a bird or something to catch poop since that's about all its good for.
I have been playing MMO's since 1999 and yes they can be addictive especially in the early days because it took such a huge time commitment to advance in the game. Thankfully they have gotten alot better at not requiring huge chunks of time at one sitting in order to succeed.
Even with the game not requiring that crazy time commitments of older MMO games some people are still getting addicted to the game. While that is something one should be aware of I would not say because ...
Funny how the reaction is the exact same thing when some BS article about the 360 goes up. Does that mean 360 fans are unsure? The problem is this is just a no name blog site with zero crediblity talking BS and it gets approved. There is nothing to this at all and has as much credibility as the story from SPG about Gears of War going to the PS3. I condemned that story as well.
Regardless of what console you prefer we should all be for credible news worthy items being posted a...
Have you played EQ2?
