John Smedley - "We have four diverse MMO titles in internal development, not counting the five MMOs we currently have live, or our partnership with Sigil for Vanguard.... We’re also concentrating on bringing each of these games to you on both the PC and the upcoming PlayStation 3." He also notes: "With the exception of the DC Comics game we’re working on, each of these games is an original IP."
If you tell developers they can use 476 mb of memory on the 360 to run their games that MS can't later change this to say they can only now use 450 mb because they need more memory for the OS. To do so would mean that the old games designed to use 476 mb of memory would no longer run. Hence why Sony went in with a bigger memory footprint for the OS knowing that they can always shrink but could never increase it. Will they utilise all this memory for things in the future? Who knows, but at l...
Right they sure did but again to suggest the 360 is not much cheaper to produce then the PS3 is supported where in this article? I sure as hell have not seen or read anything to support that statement at all.
I definately think the PS3 has not yet even started to show what its truly capable off. I guess that's one of the reason I am still very excited about the PS3 and the games that are going to be coming out like Lair, HS and Drakes Fortune and you know they will only get better and better over the years like Motorstorm 2 etc.
That is certainly one thing that is very different from PC gaming. Once you buy your new PC its already outdated and unless you continue to pump money int...
All Namco said was this.
"PS3 did not make a good start, which will make the transition from the old game console to the next generation system more prolonged than we had earlier thought. "This will keep a lid on sales of our video games in the first half, although we believe that sales of PS3 will increase in the second half (to March 2008)," Namco-Bandai president Takeo Takasu said.
This is not blaming Sony its simply stating the facts especially...
I have not always agreed with you in the past..actually I usually don't agree with you at all but you have said something here that has made me look at the situation differently.
Your right a developer can make a great game but if its in a genre of gaming I don't like then chance are even if its the greatest game ever created I am not going to buy it because I simply don't like that kind of game. Hence why even Gears of War did not sell 10 million copies because not every 360...
Steve Allision is right. For big budget games costing $25 million to make your not going to try something radically different if you do then you most likely will be flushing money down the drain. That's just being smart as a business and dispite the fact that gamers look at games from a purist perspective of that money should not matter, its about creating something new and unique, its just not reality on that scale.
The author suggest that we should look to the Wii, PC and DS...
No bro your not getting what I am saying. This is not a console war issue. That's why I brought an example for the 360. This is about any developer making a game for any system regardless of the install base. If they make a great game it will sell. Simple really, not complicated. Yes RFoM and Motorstorm are the 2 best games for the PS3 right now but had more of the games release been better then they could have also been up there with them and sold as well. Heck as PS3 owners and peopl...
Well I guess the same could be said for Gears of War then since there is nothing as good on the 360. That must be why it sold so good if we go by your logic.. I would rather say it was an amazing game and thats why it got the sales it did. Stop trying to twist things and just accept that gamers should want developers to make great games. There is far to many average games being produced and for $60 bucks I am only buying the best ones. And sorry to say but Gundam is not one of them.
Exactly! Funny RFoM and Motorstorm sold just fine because they are great games.
Yo developers! If you want your games to sell make them more then just average!

Strange that this article is listed as PS3 but I am not seeing it there. The only way I knew about this was on the side where it shows most recent comments.
I actually think this might be God of War 3 but I have been unable to solve the puzzle.
Why I think its God of War 3 is the following clue. The letters points to three cities of Gaia
Gaia is Greek goddess personifying the Earth.
Gaia, portrayed as a giant Titan, the embodiment of earth and nature, is a major character in the video game God of War II, in which it is revealed that Gaia was the narrator of the first God of War, though she took no acti...
pwn is text slang for owned and it means beatten badly, similar to being "schooled" kind of a thing.
He did'nt say what you think he said. Try to find the complete article, he's saying "blu ray solved alot of our problems that they had while programming the game for the ps3. Not that it solved all other platforms issues, he's having trouble making it for the ps3 and in that respect, yes BR has helped them w/the ps3. "
Really? The article in this news story is getting its information directly from PSU.com Which states.
"With so much attention to ...
Its not a matter of public outcry its more a matter of looking at what having a hard drive standard in ever unit allowed MS to do with the Xbox. It was core to MS establishing XBL, something the industry had not seen before and is a great benefit to all gamers going forward. I am so thankfull for MS doing this and that Sony saw that as being key for them this time around.
I just don't understand why MS decided to not include one in the core other then they felt that having a ...
First let me say MS, with the Xbox, set a new standard for consoles. A hard drive and ethernet port in every unit. Sony with the PS2 tried to counter with add on network and hard drive but since they where not standard developers could really not take advantage of these things.
Now lets look at Sony. For the PS1 they introduced the CD as the medium for the console world. With the PS2 it was DVD. Each version trying to offer more to developers and gamers. Not only that but ...
I have found another site that's reporting on the game and they state...
"Perhaps most importantly, the game is running on the Unreal 3 engine. According to GameInformer, Square can't reveal which systems will play host to The Last Remnant just yet, but given the graphical complexity and Takai's mention of the game going multiplatform, it's a pretty sure bet you'll see this on the Xbox 360 and PS3 when it releases in the spring of 2008."
