I am really excited to see what they do with this. For me peronsally I hope SOE uses the speach recognition to replace actually having to type on a keyboard to communicate in a mmorpg. John Smedley has already said they are looking at new ways to allow gamers to interact and this was one of them.
GameJunkieJim - The 360 is cheap to play online.
Not as cheap as the PS3 now is it? Again the amount of money people will invest in games and online(in the case of the 360) over the life of the console, makes the purchase price of the system the cheap part of the equation.
GameJunkieJim - I bought my HDTV because I like to watch HD-DVD movies, Discovery HD theater, and stuff from the Video Marketplace in HD, as well as playing the Wii in widescreen (although it'...
And your comments changes what I said how? All I was pointing out is that the difference are not caused by hardware limitations but in programing to take advantage of how the PS3 hardware works. Also, if your a game developer who is making a title that is going to be multiplatform, it should look and run as close to the same on both system consoles, which is what Bethesda did with Oblivion. If they can do it then there should not be a reason why other developers can't right?
Brad McQuaid started out with SOE as he originally made EQ. It's disappointing that money ran out before he could get the game where he wanted it before release. Hopefully they can work out a deal where the money will be there to make the game what it has the potential to be.
One things mmo companies need to realize is that releasing unfinished MMO's is no longer tolerated by gamers. From a recent interview with Scott Hartsman producer of EQ2 SOE has learned this leason and ...
SOE, as far as I know, has never made any indication of bring EverQuest to the PS3. If anything it would be EverQuest 2 that would go to PS3. Considering that SOE has 4 new mmo's in the works that will be crossplatform I think they have the MMO market covered as far as the PS3 is concerned.
So early ports from the Xbox 360 to PS3 did not do so well. Like we already didn't know this. As has been explained before getting a handle on how to program and get the most out of the PS3 is a bit tricky. 2 different game developers, Factor 5 and Havok, have stated that if you make a game for the 360 without giving consideration to what is required to port it over to the PS3 your in for a nasty suprise.
There have been ports that have been as good or better then the 360 ve...
Funny thing is in Hawaii tourist come from all over the world to take part in a luau. You all know what that is right? They cut the throat of a pig and bleed it out then put it in a pit and roast it and then everyone eats it.
Reality people animals die every day to provided food for humans. As stated they purchased the goat from a local butcher. It was killed the way every goat is killed by that butcher for people to then eat. The animal did not suffer any more then any ot...
If you can afford a HDTV to enjoy watching HD movies and TV, then you can afford a PS3, its a simple as that. I can't really see anyone buying a PS3 without a HDTV or at least planning on doing so shortly. That's the big bucks when looking at enjoying HD gaming not the price of a PS3.
If your watching tv on a 27" or less CRT TV eating Kraft dinner and wondering how your going to pay your rent this month then guess what its not just the PS3 that's to expensive for you. S...
The nice thing about having a blog, is I can review the reviews! :)
So…
As of now, here’s what we’re looking at:
IGN: 8/5/10
1UP: 8/10
GAMESPOT: 6.7/10
The first two I can live with, they feel fair and make sense. I am very, very proud of those reviews. Although, I have to say, when I hear the 1up guys on the podcast saying the game is the best on PSN AND saying that it's closing in on being one of the top 3 download ga...
I personally think that the PS3 is a great system period. I also believe it will sell better then it has been when more games come out. Hell if your going to say the PS3 was a mistake because the Wii is selling so well compared to it then you would have to say the same for the Xbox 360.
I honestly can't see why the Wii is selling as well as it is other then its something different and its cheap. Its still very early for this console cycle and alot can change. Nintendo is ...
I always love it when analysts speculate on stuff like this. I had thought his original move was the demotion or at least that was what they where saying then. I wonder if this time they got it right or are they still barking up the wrong tree? One thing that's for sure is, we will likely never know one way or the other. Perhaps that's why they feel encouraged to try and show how smart they are by saying stuff like this.
Proper context. When deciding to upgrade to HD there are 3 things to consider, in the following order.
1. Display - Do you have a 1080p capable tv?
2. Format - Which format do you choose to support,HD-DVD or Blu-Ray? Again which one has the most movies for you to choose from?
3. Player - What make and model to buy? Again this has to support what format you have choosen to support and consumers are not only just concerned with price they also lo...
It does not include Talledega Nights or Casino Royal in Euorpe.
Yes Blu-ray is not selling as good compared to DVD..duh but then neither is HD-DVD. Lets please stick to comparing apples to apples instead of pointing out oranges sell better then apples.
Blu-ray however accounted for 70% of all HD disc format sales for the first quater of 2007. This dispite the fact that Blu-ray was late to the party. HD-DVD got off to a much better start but now is being beaten by alot. The reason is simple. More studios back the Blu-Ray format and thus...
If it was GPU related all PS3 games would look worse then 360 games. Oblivion is a game that actually look better on the PS3 then the 360 version. There have been a few more ports that have been pretty equal as well. It shows the GPU is not the issues as your suggesting. Its an issue with the developers. As stated by several different developers (Factor 5 and Havok) If you design a game for the 360 without any thought to whats required to port it to the PS3 your in for a world of hurt. ...
Right on Deep!
My next games for the PS3 are going to be....
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Lair
Heavenly Sword
Ratchet and Clank
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
At least not the PS3 version. I am tired of the crappy ports. We need to support studios that make good games, like Team Ninja or Bethesda, not crap like this. Anyone who buys this game is saying to the studio its ok I get the sh!tty port or version of the game. To think they are only doing it in the first place to make money this kind of effort should not be rewarded. You want my money then give me a game that is as good on the PS3 as it is on the 360. If you can't do that then don't bo...
I would encourage every PS3 owner to pick this up. Team Ninja is a very talented team and up until now exclusive to MS. If you want them to make more PS3 games we need to show our love for what they are doing by buying their game.
I can without a doubt say that this will be shut down by Sony as soon as they realize its up. Their lawyers will be all over this. Anything that might be mistaken as being an offical Sony site is going to have issues. Add to this that Home is a virtual 3d world of what this site is trying to do and I can guarnetee you they will want to shut it down.
Nice to see not everyone is taking a cheap shot and actually has some perspective in what they comment about. I guess I can't totally blame the press. Its a competative industry in which viewership and site hits are what count. You see it here with all the flamebait articles getting the most action. We are like moths to a flame. As long as we react like that then many journalist will continue to sensationalize the headlines and look for the negative and controversal to draw the moths to ...
