It doesn't say much when your brand new "next gen" hardware is barely beating the sales of the 7 year old last gen tech of your competitors. With the ps4/720 consoles on the horizon, ninty must be worried with sales figures like this what will they have to offer when the competition comes out?

I think its perfectly fine to update a reveiw due to circumstances that were not there or apparent at the time of the original reveiw and actually can be quite helpful in keeping you away from really buggy games or games that are really bad without a patch, however I do think if you are going to continually re-review things next to every change in score shoud be a reason for the change(ie, score goes up because it runs better with the patch, or score goes down because of problems associated ...
Yes but part of those microtransactions are unlocks for you to by all the stuff that you are supposed to earn in game. Thats why I stopped playing BF3, in multiplayer you would get owned by some newb that has everything unlocked for an extra 60 bucks so they end up with twice as much extra stuff than the people that had been workiing to unlock things the legitimate way.

Yes some ps2 games would be nice but i thought a few were already. Arent the metal gear 2 and 3 from the ps2? You can get those and a few other titles on vita. However I think they have to be specifically recoded for the vita, or mabey thats just cause they are HD remakes.
Apps definitley need more, not as much as phones but some more useful apps would be nice. I use skype to video talk with family in Europe, +1 on vita for skype.

The ps4 isnt a gamble, they are using well known developer friendly hardware that is relatively cheap stuff. They are doing what they should have done with the ps3 to make it less of a gamble.
Honestly I would say sony has learned a lesson in risk taking on the ps3 and the ps4 is the answer to what they learned.

I lost interest when the put the pay to unlock everything option in. Every jackass out there with a low level had everything I worked my butt off to unlock and then some and gets to woop my butt with all the better stuff he has, why you ask, not because he earned it, but because he paid an extra 50 bucks or whatever it was.
Pay to win games piss me off. And that sucks because i did really like BF3 but all the pay to unlock BS really put a sour taste in my mouth.
I think updating a review is ok but not changing the score or if you do at least leave the original score and then put a "patched review score" if the patches or dlc really add that much more to the experience, however, i would definitly asterick* or highlight anything that was changed and emphasize that the scores were changed based on patches,dlc, etc.

I just saw an article the other day that said devs were expecting pricepoints to remain the same for top teir releases due to cost cutting features of the next gen development process. (basically even tho its more expensive to produce games every gen, with the advent of developer friendly software and hardware reduces develpment costs so it balances out and prices remain the same)

Its not that they dont matter, there is just less of a leap in graphics each gen, of any console, I mean really how much better can it get when a lot of games are nearing photorealism as it is.
