Personally, I wish they made the 360 version in 640p like the PS3 version. Not for sake of fanboy arguements. But the fact that the 360 one suffers from some heavy dithering effect being in 720p. Don't believe me? Well then see for yourself if you truely have both consoles Skadoosh. Run them on the same TV. Then look for a sign in the distance in GTA IV 360 and look at the same sign for the PS3 version. You will see the 360 version pixelated and scatterd, while the PS3 version is more clearly...

Because some people actually prefer the RGB setting set to Limited. As some TVs, automatically going to Full will cause crushed blacks, especially if the TV in question has an HDMI "low" setting. And typically, people who calibrate their TVs for optimal picture quality would rather use HDMI low over RGB Full. Both being on, will cause inaccurate colors and crushed blacks. Changing the brightness doesn't adjust just black levels alone, so having a higher brightness will give a washed...

How would you even play this type of game for more than 12 hours anyway? I think it would get worse reviews if it was a 24 hour QTE game.

Amen SL1M. It's not just about value. Casuals don't really care for it. Infact it's boggling that some parents would dish out $700 just for one, but it makes kids happy.

The brand Nintendo just resonates with children. I have a 9 year old nephew and a 5 year old niece that loves the Wii. They absolutely don't care about my PS3 or 360 at all.

And that's why Nintendo is able to sell 500k units a month lol

Don't know about you, but on my 46" samsung. Blu-rays are crystal clear compared to upscaled DVDs. Sure upscaled DVDs look good and are very watchable. But there's still a lot of video noise from the upscaling. It would also depend on your seating distance and TV size to tell a difference. Even then, I still notice blu-rays (and hd-dvds) are much much clearer than upscaled dvds regardless of how far i sit or if it's a 40" or 46".

If you cant tell the difference, th...

No they are not.

They've enjoyed the free millions they got for the HD-DVD deal. Then all the HD-DVD transformers sales. And the standard DVD sales. And now they are rolling in more dough with the Blu-Ray sales. It's Win/Win/Win for them and they know it.

"How many times...
...do you watch these movies? why not just rent them? "

Wow, is it really that weird to know that people like to watch movies? Even if they've seen it already? Some people like to watch the movie again if they feel like it.

I didn't think that was really "out of this world"

@Predator

The Blu-Ray version has a slightly higher bit rate. You may not tell the difference, so if you can cop a HD-DVD version for cheap. Might as well just go with that one.

Blu-Rays have higher bit rates. Though most regular people probably cant tell the difference, but give it to a Videophile a...

120 million doesn't instantly mean crazy amount of sales.

I highly doubt there's 120 million ACTIVE PS2 users.
Keep in mind this is over the course of 8-9 frickin years here. It doesn't mean that all 120 million PS2 users still buy PS2 games. Especially since 30 million have bought the Wii, 20 million have bought the 360, and 15 million have bought a PS3.

The PS3 needs a price cut. As valuable as it is already, a price cut will only help.

Good point, but people's point here is that it's not Ironic because MGS4 actually lived up to the hype. And the hype was created by the fans anyway.

How many MGS4 commercials do you see? I don't see very many. Heck, I see more promotion for Mercs 2 than MGS4. Infact, I think there aren't anymore MGS4 commercials at all. Which is sad really.

Some games deserve the hype, some don't. Halo 3 and GTA IV comes to mind. Both didn't deserve a 10/10. 8.5/10 should have been f...

"I say out of all the homes out there in the united states, only about 30% of these homes even have a HDTV"

30%? Well that number used to be 3% or less. It's a growing market. People want HDTVs. Companies like Vizio and Westinghouse are offering the entry-level HDTVs for families on a tighter budget.

It's like when people had black and white TVs and upgraded to color. The whole world didn't just upgrade to color TV overnight. The same will go for HDTVs.

Once Blu-Ray players hit $99, there is absolutely no excuse why anyone couldn't buy one.

When the first HDTVs were offered, naysayers probably said it will never replace a good old tube TV.

Look at HDTV's today. Everybody can buy one at a relatively cheap price. All kind of brands out there to choose from the lower end models to the insane higher end models. Now having a thin flat screen HDTV is common among people's households.

And that's just 720p TV...
