"I tell people the PlayStation 3 is the cheapest console on the market"

Here's where you fail. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm actually agreeing with you and on your side here. But here's my take on this.

Casuals and Cheapo's are casuals and cheapo's for a reason. They play casually and are cheap. lol.

YOU, and people like YOU, do research in what you buy short term and long term. Which is a very good thing.

Casuals and Cheapo's...

Ah Europe. I feel bad for our brothers there. Always getting the shaft when it comes to game releases.

Aclay you make a very fine point indeed. A lot of those awesome PS2 games are coming out for PS3 eventually. PS2 owners just need those reasons to upgrade.

And anybody who's ever beaten God of War 2 will be itchin to play God of War 3. And i'm sure if they don't have a PS3 yet, they'll buy one to play it.

This is more proof that MS isn't looking to make profit with their gaming division. They just want to monopolize the market.

The cheapest PS3 is $399.99. Which will then come with an 80gb and dualshock 3.

Who in their right mind would game for hours on that thing? My hands already get sore with the PSP which is small enough.

It's just you're 360 biased so anything that is a PS3 game you will be against it.

@Jenzo

Because Motorstorm 1 was actually a good and very polished game. Though missing some features like Splitscreen and other issues like needing more track variety.

Now MS2 brings the best of MS1, and more. More tracks, 4 player splitscreen, more environment interactions, different strategies with boosting, more vibrant and polished graphics, and MONSTER TRUCKS that could oblierate anything in it's path.

Even if this game was multiplatform, it would s...

I liked COD3 also. After COD4, people's expectations of video games are beyond unimaginable.

Don't judge it until you play it. Free Radical has a good track record, look what came out. Silicon Knights was pretty good too. And something was too wrong with their latest game.

Not to say that WKC is going to suck (infact it's one of my most anticipated PS3 games) but it's ok to be cautious and not jump to any conclusions until the actual game is out.

Well you cant really compare the format war to this one. Because HD-DVD players were cheaper, and more people were buying them than standalone blu-ray players. It's only because of the PS3 that help sell blu-ray software which as everyone knows, is the deciding factor in that format war.

In the console war, no matter which way you look at it. $199.99 for a HD gaming console is one helluva steal. And like I said in another post, drop $50 on a 20gb HDD off ebay and you got yourself...

$199.99 for the Arcade is not bad, then cough up $50 for a 20gb HDD (probably somewhere on ebay) and you get an old "premium" for only $249.99.

If people see this value, then this will definitely boost 360 sales.

"The Xbox 360 would have to, literally, turn into a PS3. "

That's what the new "xbox" that IGN is suggesting would be. They might as well buy PS3s, replace it with the 360 core and call it a day. Then I can see Microsoft gloating about how innovative and reliable their hardware would be.

I wouldn't be too surprised if MS does release a new xbox.

And for those saying "No company would abandon it's install base and just come out with a new system!"

Well... I know one company that did. And it's call Microsoft with the original xbox which had an install base of 20 million.

"2: Make Xbox Live Free"

Or at least cut the price of the membership. I think $20/year would be the hot price.

"Then the Wii came out and made the Xbox 360 its sales b*tch."

Correction, it made everything it's sales b*tch.

Earthworm Jim!!! Hell yeah, love that game.

I agree with ProArchy.

Instead of seeing this as "OMG go burn in hell Valve, you said this and that!"

This is a more positive thing for Sony and the PS3 gamers. Sure they've said their crap, but if you look back in 2006. 90% of the media was saying crap about the PS3 too. Then look at today, you see plenty of articles praising the PS3.

More developers and publishers jumping onto the PS3 is just good business as well as good for the gamers.

It can no longer be denied. Sure developers love to make a game for a 20 million install base (360), but with another 15 million install base (PS3), it's a clear decision to maximize profits.

Now if we go back into time when the PS3 was only at 3-5 million install base, that's where we saw developers like Gabe saying "The PS3 is a waste of time"

Crisis still looks better. In any case, it's all in the choice of color saturation. If Crytek felt like it, they can just desaturate the color a bit, add some blur here and there. They can achieve photo realistic graphics and look much better than these photos.
