Only former employees of Rare could have a sense of humour like that...
That was a rather brusque interviewing style...
Like all fanboy comments, the "Dead in E.U." argument has some truth, since the U.K. =/= All of Europe. Although not dead, the 360 isn't thriving.
Just wait until the PS3 gets more good games!
So you think the PS3 will only sell three million units in the next six months?
Good luck with that.
Heh, I didn't think there were so many more of my fellow countrymates on N4G!
People who call other people fanboys tend to be fanboys themselves.
Most of you probably don't consider yourself fanboys, and that's a sure sign that you are. Ack, the paradox!
It's all about variety.
Everyone seems to forget that Square-Enix said they are trying for a worldwide simultaneous release. Europe may not be able to make the cut, they say, but they're certain they'll release it in Japan and the U.S. at the same time.
Hopefully other magazines/websites will have previews soon too!
The reason some believe the 360 needs to be "turned around" is because, as it stands now, the 360 is only appealing to a narrow demographic of 12-25 year olds who enjoy FPS and Sports games and playing games online. It's easy to think this demographic is widespread, since most of that demographic would spend time on the internet, and it may be larger in the American market, but on the world stage, it's a narrow demographic.
Each to one's own, I guess.
But, to me, you'll always be a child...
It's not even a year old, mate.
If you want a PS3 game playing in 1080p and 60 frames per second, however, pick up Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
EDIT: 1. My avatar is from a painting of a character from a famous fantasy series.
2. There will be more 1080p games in the future, when development on the console improves.
3. 4D gaming is still possible. Perhaps we'll see a title with it soon.
Even with compression techniques, it may become more difficult for future games, be they FPS, Driving, or other such genres, to fit onto a DVD9, due to the HD content. That's something to be witnessed at a later time, however.
But, yes, I don't fully understand why Mistwalker is so CGI-heavy, when it could use the in-game engine to create cut-scenes. Even so, with the space limitations of CGI, it took 4 years for a 4 disc game to be released on the PS1, a'la Final Fantasy VIII....
An RPG is fine with multiple discs. First-person shooters, however, aren't.
Thankfully for Microsoft, it hasn't happened yet.
As is said a lot, the 360 is easier to develop and port from than developing and porting from the PS3. Because of that, we'll be seeing a lot of 360 - PS3 titles, and less PS3 - 360 titles. It's much more complicated, apparently.
Square-Enix, in fact, said the opposite. It'll only be on one platform, they just didn't mention what.
That's the thing, alright. Sony were arrogant, and there's very little at the moment that'd make people get the console. Anyone who thought that the PS3 would do well in 2007 was delusional. It's done better than I thought it would, but it's not anywhere near a success.
It seems like every games company, after tasting a slice of success, gets arrogant. Nintendo did it, with the N64, "the most powerful games console in the world," and saying Squaresoft's games were ba...
Heh, "precious" Sony...
Are you claiming that Microsoft aren't arrogant for declaring this. Sony were arrogant in the past for declaring victory, are Microsoft not for doing it now, pray tell?
Heh. I still see people swinging the "Sony is Arrogant!" flag. Tell me, is Microsoft declaring they've won the console war when their competitors are only a year old, and being out sold by the Wii, not arrogant?
Microsoft may win in the end, don't think I'm saying otherwise, but it's really early to be touting eventual dominance.
Both of you are doing nothing to improve anyone's opinion of either camp. Textbook definition of a fanboy conflict...
Ah, they're all coming out from their holes.
Fairly old article, by the by. Kaz has already said the price point was an issue, one which will be addressed.
That doesn't matter, though, does it? PS3 fails! No games! Gimped memory! No AA! No 1080p launch titles! No 120fps Shooters! WASTE OF MONEY!
