Good job, Bladestar! Use the examples of PS3 games from a single publisher. That gives a great overview of the whole situation! :D
Yes, there are games that work with one disc on the 360. But there are also games that need four.
Yes, there are games on the PS3 that have 5GB installs. But there are also games that don't require them.
So, as you say, "aren't we even?" No. I can delete installs. You can't merge four discs into one.
A HDD? This is meant to be a PORTABLE device!
Bioware said themselves that EA didn't buy them out just for singl platform titles.
It's more likely than many would like to believe.
What!? I thought the Bioware/LucasArts game was a Monkey Island RPG!
/dullsarcasm
You can delete the install files when you've stopped playing, of course...
"@ravinash - Umm, I don't think EA has any say in that.. at all."
They do, actually, assuming that it wouldn't go to the PS3 was part of the deal:
"Microsoft Game Studios will retain the publishing rights for Mass Effect on Xbox 360 and future downloadable content for this installment," Microsoft said in a statement. "Microsoft Game Studios and Electronic Arts have entered into an agreement where Electronic Arts will publish all future Ma...
Actually, bumnut, Blu-Ray drives are only a fraction slower than MS' 12x DVD Drive in the 360. The difference comes from the amount of extra data to be taken from the disc, considering a Blu-Ray dual layer can store 50GB, and a dual-layer DVD stores 9GB.
Still, installing helps a lot. DMC4 has some pretty damn quick loading. :)
Microsoft's online network is selling Monopoly?
Ah, the irony! It burns!
Nope, the PC version isn't out until the end of the month. It's 61:39 difference in sales between the 360 and PS3 versions. PC doesn't factor in.
Nope.
UTIII! Yay!
No White Knight Chronicles, Final Fantasy XIII and The Last Remnant? What's with that?
Meus is more level-headed than most of us around here, hence the ten bubbles.
It looks like SOMEONE invested in HD-DVD... :)
Aye, that didn't click with me. Of course they'll announce it at GDC! :)
This marks the first year that I'm actually truely looking forward to GDC to a similar capacity as E3!
It was always such a moot point, blaming games for obesity. Why not blame other media, such as films and books? You're not being very active while being entertained by those, either.
He seems fairly confident that the 360 will continue to get superior versions of games. While I don't think the PS3 versions will be that much better, it's a bit strange to hear him say that, considering that many games have improved on the PS3, and will continue to do so.
Here's the important bit:
"Though Kojima Productions and Konami aren't ready to announce a final release date, they did mention to us that we should hear that announcement in late February."
Yay!
I agree. Even if they had the Lambda, Portal, and Team Fortress symbols on three sides of a plain orange box, it'd be better.
It didn't sway my purchase, though. It's what inside that counts. :)
I registered at their forum to add my problems with the PS3 Orange Box, activated my account, and have to wait until an Admin/Mod approves my account.
Grr! I want to moan, complain, and berate! :P
No, they have flash memory. There's quite a difference between a HDD and Flash, since a Hard DISC Drive is, in fact, an optical disk. That woundn't fit in a portable device.
Knows your facts before you post.
