It could’ve been worse; the Xbox executive could’ve pitched laid off staff use Microsoft Copilot.
My advice, don’t hire the Perfect Dark or Everwild project managers.
Good guy Phil.
Dogs and cats living together... what is the world coming to? To be fair this is still aligned with Sony's plan to have online games as multiplatform and isn't the same as bringing a single player game like God of Tsushima to Xbox.
But will Xbox players actually spend the money to buy a new game like this when they have Halo Infinite included with Game Pass?
It looks like whatever division is making a loss or has no chance of making a profit, then Microsoft is being financially strict in approach and cutting the risks of making more losses. What does this mean for the next Xbox hardware platform if it costs billions to launch a new console platform at a loss, and take years to recoup the costs? In this new financially frugal climate I suspect Microsoft manufacturing its own new console is now too high a cost for Microsoft to bear - the next mainl...
In four years time this Mario Kart game will still be in the top ten.
Mario Smash Football.
The Xbox PC X and the PS6 will be more powerful than the Switch 2.
DreamcastGuy - cloying demeanour that he has aside, was one of the first to criticise it.
They’re welcome to it - it looks doo-doo.
Obscure_Observer said “I wonder what she meant by "full roadmap of gaming optimised chips" though? Seems ambitious.” To me, I interpret this to mean rather than having a couple of X/S products for launch and a handheld there is a longer term plan to release new products with higher specs at timed intervals. I’m speculating of course, but this could mean a spec bump every year or two, so that even if the PS6 or Steam Deck Home is released a year after ‘Xbox’ Microsoft can release an ...
jznrpg said: "it will be further behind in power when new consoles come out in 2-3 years." Whilst that's true, that's only a negative for people who prioritise performance first. Nintendo does do its own thing and its USP is its unique and exclusive IP and this is why people turn up for Nintendo. Additionally the Cyberpunk 2077 port demonstrates it can also deliver premium game experiences -of course not to the same standard as Xbox and PS5 but good enough for the owners.
The score for the first Plants Vs Zombies is such great, iconic music that it has a timeless quality. Not quite the level of Minecraft, but wonderful in its own right.
‘PS5’s Stellar Blade is reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch 2’
And Xbox?
So what's going on here?
I think two things: Windows faces an existential threat from SteamOS if it ever goes mainstream. So Microsoft wants to build an Xbox PC complete with streamlined Windows OS that will be able to be more attractive than any SteamDeck home console.
Microsoft wants every gamer including PlayStation gamers to move to PC, then it wants to market Game Pass to ALL PC players. Even if it only captures 5% of the worldwide market that wo...
REMEMBER: This now includes the cheap, rebranded Xbox Live Game Pass Core subscribers.
@Obscure_Observer how would you feel if/when the next Xbox drops new native Xbox games and only runs ‘Xbox PC’ games?
So performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on the brand new Switch 2 puts the performance on the 2012 PS4 and 2016 PS4 PRO to shame?!!! Well done Twisted Voxel for highlighting this shocking performance disparity - Sony should be embarrassed of itself!
The lead image for this article has Kirby and the Forgotten Land in it, however the update is not released until the 28th of August.
@Tacoboto. Who? I’ve noticed that over the past week with most of these hugely negative Xbox stories o they/them has been oddly absent. I suspect the pain has been too heavy a burden to bear, and they don’t want to be challenged on all the things they got wrong. So likely they/them had been using an alt account!
