That stark difference between sales on the different platforms, 96% on PS5 and 4% on Xbox, is much larger than I think anyone was expecting. The only people buying it on Xbox are likely the ardent physical game collector enthusiasts.
It demonstrates that including premium games as day one freebies with subscription services kills off any demand from consumers to purchase them. If Microsoft had 100 million Game Pass subscribers this business model would be profitable for it ...
@ObscureO said: "Hard to see this as a win for Sony when their games are being drowned out on their own store and their players are giving their money to Microsoft instead of Sony... 30% is less than the 100% they would get if you bought their game instead."
Yes, if a customer decides to buy a game and chooses an Xbox published title over a PlayStation published game then Sony will receive less profit from that person's purchase. However, it is short-sighted t...
‘GTA V Gets Pulled from PS Plus as PC Players Continue to Favor Legacy Over Enhanced’
That’s an awful clickbait title. The use of the word ‘as’ means the first statement is the result of the second, when in reality they’re not connected.
@InUrFoxHole said “Playstation owners buy games? That's a wild badge of honor my boy.”
This Tuesday after The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion was finally revealed I saw a tonne of conversation on X/Twitter of people gleefully mocking PS5 owners who said they were buying the game, as they were getting it for free with Game Pass. Yes, that’s great value for people with a Game Pass subscription - but do you still not see how it has impacted the Xbox hardware platform? It’s the r...

It can't hold a candle to the QuickShot II Turbo with its gorgeous red and black decoy.
BOO!
Pushing the [X] off the wall! I remember reading about that in a preview/ review of the game and it sounded so immersive.
The fact that the leaked box art says the game is called The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion REMASTERED leads me to suspect that perhaps, it may, perchance, possibly be a remaster.

Don’t you get tired of this crap? Creating new accounts to cheerlead for a brand that doesn’t know you exist - and if it did it wouldn’t care. Come on man, get out and enjoy life.
I don’t think we need to get too pedantic about the use of the word port, the word itself is not a pejorative, it’s a bad port that is deserving of criticism. If a game is released on a platform after the release on other platforms, and was not developed in tandem with them, then it’s a port.
@Ps5conehead You must have me confused with someone else as I'm not always complaining about costs.
@S2Killinit 'Why cant Sony update its SINGLE PLAYER games and sell it to people who want it?' I agree. I was ironically, attempting, to highlight the people who have been critical of Sony for its remasters last year yet are jumping through hoops at the prospect of the Oblivion remaster. I mean, I will either play or buy Oblivion. I've played a bit of Days Gon...
I’m sick of Sony’s money-grabbing remasters that repackage old games with a resolution bump and expect long time fans to pay for it. That’s why I’m so glad Microsoft will be introducing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a new generation, so they can see what quality gameplay really is. I can’t wait to go back. Xbox 🫡
Phil Spencer is waiting to see how it sells on PS5.
It was well received in the Xbox reviews but failed to generate its costs in sales. Xbox YouTuber MrMattyPlays said on his podcast Defining Dukes that he was eager for the PlayStation community to buy it, as strong sales would lead to a sequel.
I love Shuhei, but since he left you can’t shut him up! For so long he was an unofficial spokesman for PlayStation in that he was public facing and would regularly talk to the media, then he was moved and he was effectively silenced. I think this is him getting everything of his chest.
@anast. I think you’re right, thank you.
@RaidenBlack FFS you’re confusing me, do you like it blobby or not?
@anast said: “I would even buy an Xbox if they did and it was exclusive.”
For the good of all that is holy let it go, Xbox and Exclusive are two words that no longer go together.
I get it, we’re all sad about what’s transpired but you might as well say “I would even buy a Dreamcast if they did and it was Exclusive.” It’s the past, these exclusives have seized to exist.
Jim Ryan was at the top when Concord was greenlit and when Sony stepped back from almost all PR - launching a new product, PSVR2, without even a video reveal. However, he was able to launch a console successfully, and keep the PlayStation division profitable, how many other console CEOs who launched a console in late 2020 can say the same thing?!
I want to try out the patch, I want to complete the game - but I can't because I can't get past the first world. And before you jump to tell me to 'get good' I tried and I couldn't!
