Exactly. We've been "waiting for e3" for like 16 straight years now
And out of all those statistics you posted, Jin, you left out the most important one: barely a single one of those devs saw the returns they'd have seen with people paying directly for the games. I'd say "literally not a single one," but there's a few where Microsoft dumped money at them to make up the losses they'd have otherwise faced. Players mean nothing when your company isn't profiting, and a 2.8x per capita increase in dlc spending after the fact isn't...
More like *game "upgrades" to what it should've been the moment everyone saw 4 characters on the screen*
Man, I'm glad Sparky is here to get it all the speculation bass ackwards so that we don't have to. I hope the 77 isn't your birth year, someone in their 40s should have a basic 101 understanding of business and money flow.
(Like, you actually think people are spending much money on dlc for rented games?)
The only logic from you so far was that some ps users will not buy the game because those on Xbox didn't have to. And it's ironic, t...
Lol alrighty then Shadow, that's just selling something to someone with extra steps
As far as question 4 goes, if I ran that division of Sony I'd sell it to the devs as "if people play and like your trail, you'll get more sales."
Considering allowing 2 hour access to the complete game is relatively no work at all, the potential to sell more is all the motivation any intelligent dev should need.
If any dev is scared of these 2 hour trials hurting their bottom line, then they probably know their game isn't good enough...
If you were paying specifically to access the demos, absolutely. Maybe aside from 3 mentally ill people out there that will do that, the rest of us would pay for the other features and just accept that the demos come along with it
Damn, with that in mind why did Sony even bother
@orchard
So Sony allowing online access to all tiers is actually limiting gamers' options?
That's news to me, I guess if they restrict online access to the highest tier that would somehow be less limiting?
If you say so
Jeez dude, lack of business education much or what?
"All the stuff free on day one or I'll cry!"
That's what you sound like. How about paying money directly to the devs that deserve said money? Keep playing all the games on a $1 streaming service deal, and in a few years you'll see the expensive to make AAA games start to dry up because all their revenue has been sucked away from them by the subscription holder. (Sigh, short sighted people)
Hell yeah brother, I'm gonna sell my PS5 over this, thank you for the inspiration
That's what I've been hearing, unfortunately I got the PS5 version on disc so I can't even sample the PS4 version. Anyone on the 5 who got it digitally should give that a shot
It's being called the best because of context. The people praising it understand the dark souls formula and knew what to expect out of an open world version of the game. I for one love this open world and it's one of my favs of all time, it doesn't have to be better than the Witcher at every aspect of an open world, it just needs to make sense and be fundamentally fun and playable in the context of a dark souls fan needs. I feel bad for those who don't get it, but the game isn...
That is most likely an HDMI issue. Go to your input settings and there's something in there, I forget exactly what it's called, but it's usually set at 0, and you can change it to -1 or -2. I wish I understood it better but changing that setting to -1 or -2 usually gets rid of that flickering
If we were talking about Apple I'd be fully on board
So cool. Your wisdom is stuff of legend, that or maybe just common sense to anyone who's taken business 101.
That said, if you think retailers paid the same for this game that they did with any other fully priced release, that's silly. The day one shipment of course was paid at the typical retailer price, because that was paid ahead of time, but after all the shit hit the fan, demand plummeted so retailers wouldn't still be willing to pay even $30, or whatever the going ...
Elvis is right that you can upgrade either way no problem, but just a heads up the discs can have an annoying caveat. I bought a few PS4 discs that got PS5 upgrades, after that happened I deleted the PS4 game in favor of the PS5 version, but every time I insert the disc it redownloads the PS4 version, so I end up with 2 icons of that game next to one another. Small annoyance, but potentially worth knowing about. Games like that I go digital now
Gamepass will hurt game sales more and more as the months roll on, it's a simple mathematical fact. I don't think it'll be sustainable long term but we'll see, I just see more and more money in MS's pocket and less in the devs', as game pass grows
The amount of people missing the sarcasm in the first comment is actually really funny
@logic
So it's defendable because they warned their new consoles are essentially useless for a few years? So sucks to suck for anyone who's actually a fan?
Now don't get me wrong, after the entirety of the xbone era, I do feel anyone that bought the series consoles was not exactly being a savvy, knowledgeable consumer, but it doesn't mean they should be allowed to get shafted so hard.
But hey, Ms warned everyone their console blo...
