I prefer Gears 3 MP.
My biggest problem is the lack of reaction enemies have to being shot, so far none have body armour and if you shoot them in the leg or chest they don't react at all.
Aiming seemed fine to me, all games kinda aim differently but Uncharted 3s aiming is easy for me.
Yeah right, they'd never jeopardize the sales that way.
The only thing that matters is if the game is enjoyable, Uncharted 3 is extremely enjoyable so linear or more open doesn't matter to me.
I was unsure if Batman AC, Gears 3 or Dues should be my GOTY but now I know it's Uncharted 3 SP, Gears 3 MP. Now I know it's Uncharted 3.
It's like playing a great CG movie, pure awesomeness.
Gaming makes me want beer more than food.
It would be cool to see if next-gen, most MP has destructible environments.
Two excellent design choices.
I disagree completely. If the story is good I don't mind be railroaded at all in fact I like it - sort of like playing a good, long movie.
I love interactive cinema, the only problem is that so few games have good stories.
MS knew Kinect, would never revolutionize gaming, they just knew that it was easy to sell people that it could.
There's not one game on Kinect that has pushed the industry forward, most games are struggling to be playable at all.
So far I'm unsure between Deus and Batman for my SP GOTY, still have Uncharted 3 and Skyrim to play though.
I'd already give best MP to Gears 3.
All consoles of course, BF3 MP on PC is probably amazing.
Didn't Nintendo already get the people who weren't previously gamers with Wii and DS? Like the elderly and more females? Yeah they did, I don't know anyone who owned PS2 or PS1/N64 who owns a Wii but I do know some girls that own Wii's and DS.
Nintendo expanded the market to non-gamers, hence this new emphasis on the casual market which MS is only now, trying to appeal to and much to the detriment of its existing user base.
Live is a rip-off unless you live in the US, I live in Canada so we pay the same price or more (video rentals, Arcade games) and get few of the 'extra' services.
I think that's why 360 is only really popular the US but PS3 sells more everywhere else; Live, which is 360s major selling point, is only good in the states.
And any issues connecting or whatever are not unique to EA games.
Take 10 dollars off and Live will be a fair price.
It will be interesting to see next gen when publishers move to charging their own online fees (which puts EA a very advantageous position seeing as they release so many popular games)
I already know what's next for Nintendo; they'll do something incredibly smart and at the same time, something equally stupid.
That's what they always do starting with N64 (cartridges), then with GC (3rd party repellent game discs and weird controller), then Wii (gimped power) and now probably Wii U (gimped online and power?).
I'm guessing their winning record will be 1 out of 4.
I'd take 720p for substantially better and more detailed graphics than in 1080p.
What I would love is an option: 1080p or 720p and more details/better lighting textures.
Pretty much any game that requires 2 analog sticks and/or decent graphics.
If you think about it, the majority of console owners don't think even the highest rated games are worth buying, as like 80% of owners won't pick up a copy.
3 million sales is seen as pretty good but remember around 47 million other people thought it wasn't good enough to buy.
Even COD only has around 20% of console owners picking it up. If game quality is voted on by dollars, the majority of owners don't think the majority of games are that ...
My guess is that Uncharted 3s campaign will be significantly better than Gears 3 SP but Gears will have better MP.
I'm getting both so I win both ways.
I like linear, open world and open-ish games, as all have there merits.
The major advantage of linear games is that you can have a wide number of varied environments and tell a cohesive, engaging story more easily. Open world games are fairly limite in terms of environment variety.
Reviewers shouldn't take off points for linearity or add for openness, all that matters is how good the experience is.
