Maybe they are hiding some of the extra cost cuts behind the free games? Rather than say "cheaper" they get to say "free". But we all know there is no free lunch and MS is deff eating this loss somewhere else.

Well, to be fair, the extra price compared to the ps4 camera is well justified. The Kinect is more hightech. The problem is that people do not care enough to spend that kind of money, and the ps camera is a cheaper alternative that will allow for some similar functions.
I think if there had been some better games out for kinect, than they could bundle those games with it, and likely could sell pretty well. The first kinect had a much larger install base of x360's to sell ...
I know pachter is not really favorite around here, but he is just doing a job. his sources are no more or less reliable than anything else except for actual figures from the companies themselves or NPD. I personally find this one a little harder to believe, but I won't be all that shocked. The x1 is sort of shedding the negative image in the eye of the general public, and they have been doing much better in the PR dept. side by side, at least judging by this, the ps4 version looks better, maybe the shadows a bit, and seems a touch crisper.if you had to go from one room to another to compare, you would likely have a hard time knowing. in no way enough to sway my choice one way or the other. im actually kind of stuck as for which console to get it on. prob x1 tho.

Maybe some people actually want to see the community move on to better things. Here and there, some news will come about sales, or resolution, and sure we will all talk a bit about it. But this site is dominated by this kind of thing to a point that nothing else seems to matter at all. So yea, this is deff becoming an issue.

Couldn't agree more. So fat, the only graphical gaps we have seen are res, and in some cases, framerate. While both are important to a certain degree, trying to say that running beautiful games at a lower resolution is some how not next gen is just ridiculous. This article is just sad.

It has to have a separate frame in the buffer at all times so that you can swap back and forth between old/new visuals. That is why running at 1080 is an issue. I don't think the game is really gonna look much diff anyways, not to say I wouldn't want 1080 if it was possible. Also, the rest of the collection runs at 1080/60. If Halo 4 will run at 1080/60, don't you think Halo 2 could have as well? Again, it is due to the ability of switching engines on the fly.
Yea as cool as it is, I agree. At the most, I will prob switch back now and then just for some good memories and a cool comparison. I almost feel like they would have been better off including the full Halo 2 original as a separate game all together lol.
I don't wanna sound like that guy..but I almost saw this coming. It's not that I thought DC would be bad, it's just that I felt Sony PR put way too much hype around it. They practically acted as if a new Grand Tourismo was coming out. Yes, it is quite a showcase for the power of the system, but looks ain't everything. I just kinda had a feeling this game was not gonna be anything more than an ordinary racer, even if its looks say otherwise.

yes, what he means is that if you have or want x1, this doesnt mean you would be a getting a system with games that look last gen. yes, the "last gen" resolution is disappointing, but they kept it that way to make it look on par in other more important areas. they had no choice, and rather than give you native 1080 with a bad framerate or worse textues etc., they settled on lower res...i would take 720 over worse visuals all around but at 1080.

FH2 is awesome. Even better when you actually get your hands on it. I had the opposite effect with DC. I like the game, but it didn't quite live to the hype. I really don't mean that to downplay the game or just add to the meaningless fanboy argument. I just really do not feel DC is a top-tier racer. It's very good, just not that kind of console-defining racer.
